FH2 Skins
« on: 19-10-2010, 21:10:40 »
I noticed some thing in skins in fh2.
Like the german fallschirmjäger/Airborn skins arent in the mod yet.
Even if you got atleast 2 maps where they play in.
Invasion of Crete, Purple Heart Lane.
I would like to see those things in the mod.
Not only for my self.

So my Question is for the people on this forums.
Would you like to see some other skin being made also for the normandy/North africa part of the mod?

"Finishing skins before beginning with the Battle of the Bulge?"

Do you really suggest that all the mappers, modellers, texture artists, sound engineers, animators and coders should just do nothing while they wait for some one to create a player model? Really? Really!?

Of course it would be to nice to see FJ and airborne models in game, and you are not the only one who thinks so. This is also not the first thread about this matter.

Edit: Oh, and it's not a "skin". It would require a whole new model + animating the model, and of course the texture. That's not something you can do overnight.

Edit 2: Might as well answer to the poll. NO!

Well, from my point of view. Fallschirmjagers were present at the Ardennes. Create a model then impot it to Crete with a desert camo.

Oh, I must have missed the ceremony where they crowned cramble king of what we should or shouldn't do with our mod. Apologizing for that  8)

Player models are player models. You can still do everything you can do now in game with hot pink camo and Mickey Mouse ears.

You can still run around, check out the sights, fire weapons, get in vehicles, capture flags, anything even if you are fashionably challenged. That's why there's placeholders on PHL and Crete. They might not be historically accurate, but you can still play the maps!

I demand Soviet naval infantry playermodels.  We can then give them 1000% health, 10minutes of sprint, bullet proof chest hair and an aura of fear that makes any enemy within 500m drop their kit for the barehands.

Of course, there are no russian maps, so they can go on Ramelle instead of the crappy US.

I have doing a gamedesign minor at school for the last weeks and working on 3d moddels. I can say only one thing: making a human moddel is VERY difficult. everything needs to be correct. because whe see every day people in our live whe notice the most little deviations of a human face or body. if the eye's are a bit to close to each other the face looks ugly and unrealistic. To make a perfect realistic human moddel you need a skilled moddeler and a lot of time. And than I am only talking about the moddel. not texturen. annimation or import it in the game engine.
