Eagerly awaiting The Names of the Finnish Kits: Electric Boogaloo. ;D

Though, are all the names of kits even now the "official" terms of the time? "Tank Hunter" or very prosaic-sounding "Assault" come to mind first.

I don't want to publish the Finnish spawn screen yet, as the NCO kit is not done.

So I was playing around with the 3ds Max 9 with POE importer tools of course, and I came across some cools things!

Some FH2 Juno Beach statics:

Very awesome stuff. May we get a honest answer, how far is the map from being done?

It was Natty's map, so it probably won't be finished. I certainly won't finish it, we had enough beaches lately...

Darn shame too. Tbh I'd rather have Juno than Gold just because of lumberjack commandos.

On a scale of historically accurate. 1 being Operation Totalize, and 10 being Omaha Beach. How accurate was it? :P

I think it was a 1:1 copy, although I am not sure.

You can get lumberjack commando's just as soon as we get the gaylord sauna kit for the Finns that is represented by a naked dude who swats his opponents with a birch branch.

Juno would be interesting to have but the Canadians landed on that beach virtually unopposed.

P.S. There were no Canadian commandos and almost every single Canuck who served in the Second World War came from urban areas that are very much removed from your bullshit lumberjack meme.

Go smoke some fish Flippy,
My Quebec includes Canada

So lumberjack commandos confirmed in future updates? Awesome!  ;D

It is a shame not seeing Juno appear. Just viewing those awesome models and seeing them go to waist is a disappointment.

However there will probably better maps coming up. ;)

Taranov bat signal.

Is he still around?

I caught Taranov on Skype today (the quote below is more or less accurate translation from Russian):
Quote
...
Garvant: For AT infantry kits I came with a head-on translation - "Istrebitel' tankov"
Now on the forum we have the argument if "Istrebitel' tankov" is historically accurate or it's more correct to name the kits as "Granatomyotchik", "Broneboischik" or "Strelok PTR"
My opponents are saying that "Istrebitel' tankov" was used only for antitank self-propellled guns
I'm throwing "otdelnye istrebitelnye protivotankovye" battalions and brigades in reply
Taranov: Танкоистребитель (tankoistrebitel') or противотанкист (protivotankist)
Garvant: As I understand, "Granatomyotchik" and "Broneboischik" are informal terms despite their usage in some documents?
Taranov: Informal

Oh boy, that Russian spawn menu makes me excited.

Are any of the carbines M44s vs M38s?

Also I think the wood on the full size 91/30s is too red.  That dark red color really only came when they applied the shellac finish at post-war re-arsenal prior to their storage in cosmoline.  During the war they were more of a natural wood color.

The barrel on the carbine M38/M44 is too long.  I am not sure if this is supposed to be a bayonet, though, as if they are M44s?  Either way, if it is a bayonet, it is too short.

If you need any photos of Mosin Nagants,  I have plenty.  I have 6 91/30s, 3 M44s, and 3 Chinese Type 53s (same as M44.)

I also have a Yugoslavian M57 and a Romanian Cugir TTC which are the same as the Russian TT33, if you need some photos of that as well.
