Comm rose
« on: 17-04-2009, 05:04:02 »
Umm is it possible to make it so if you use a chat message from the comm rose that its displayed. Alot of the time i have people yelling things in my face with the comm rose and i cant understand a word there saying (well only with the germans and italians) I relize you took it out because of realism and all that but it was actually pritty helpful.

this was tatekn out to reduce the amount of chat spam. it was horrible before, if someone actually wrote some text you had no chance to read it because it got forced out by other "radio" spam so fast.

Which is why only Squad Leader's and Commander's Comm Rose stuff generate text.  Everyday grunts don't generate text when they call stuff on the Comm Rose.

he's right, but I share your point (esp about the italian voices) It's enough already for those players that think it's tactical/plausable and helpful to request an arillery spot in a sucession of 30+ requests the moment the map starts.  I find it deeply infuriating that selfish unimaginitive FH2 players with the attention span of a nanosecond think it's fine to behave like this.

get arty, watch minimap, when the blue numbered circles get near a flag it's ok to request arty.

I think atm it's quite understable what they are saying.
Come back when we have the Japanese, the Hungarians, the Finnish and other hippies are crying uncomprehensible stuff around... then we'll talk again. ;)

Isn't there an option in bf2 to make all armies use english radio sounds?

After playing for a while in good old FH0.7 I knew quite a few sentences in Russian, Polish, Italien, Japanese and all, that was great :)

as long as we are on the subject of comme rose: can we have the immediate comme rose changes to "spotted" ? so when you hit "q" the first thing the mouse is over is "spotted"

I second that! ;D

(even though I'm just about to start ;) )

On the topic: I like it when you have to know some real basics of language to understand the voice commands (like it is now in FH2).

That's already implemented. When using a binocular it reads 'Auto' in the middle which is your old 'spotted'.
