Just use the normandy british uniforms. They are the same used in early war.

They're actually quite different - boots rather than 'putties', netting on helmets and a different overall colour, but you're right, they'll do for now :)

wasn't it the British Expeditionary Force at that time? which sported fancy outfits like this one?

Believe it or not, you're not far off. Although I believe kilt-wearing in combat was forbidden after the First World War, the top half of those uniforms looks about right. The BEF of 1940, while exceptionally well-trained and equipped (the infantry that is, not the tanks), did not have very different uniforms to the Army of the last war.

Funny you say that about the tanks. I vaguely remember some tanks even arrived in France without guns, those where still being shipped  :P

Anyway, this map made me jump into the air when I first saw the new content it brought. There are so many possibilities now for fan mappers and devs alike.

You have my full support Meadow! Early war maps are goodness. We just need someone to create some early war British tanks with proper skins.

Thanks, Fuchs! I fully intend to use the Feldgrau tanks and maybe, just maybe, somewhere along the line a Matilda skinned like the one in Counterattack in 0.7 will make it into FH2 one day ;)

Here's the thread about my map, so we don't derail this topic further:

Too bad they don't have the Early war Pz3 with the 37mm, internal mantlet, and 2 coax MGs, that's technically more correct.  Hopefully we'll see those someday soon.

Also, on the discussion of uniforms, yes, the New Zealanders should technically be wearing the brown wool uniforms reminiscent of WW1:

I would prefer a 37mm PzIII, too. It's essentially vital for Fall Gelb maps.

Yep yep.  And I just love the look of the turret for some reason, that internal mantlet is neat.

37mm Panzer III is a great idea, even tho its just as effective as the "door knocker" (pak 35)XD ;D
