This is incredibly annoying and distracting. If it's not possible to have "fire" shader instead, or crew shouting in panic.

I vote this.

The torrent runs at about a minimum 500kb/sec which is great.

I am just having some technical issues with zip/rar at the moment.

Hey guys. I have downloaded this twice via the torrent and still I am getting the poo-poo from winrar.  =(

How do I use the check sum.

BTW. The files are not asking for a password if that helps.

Thanks.

They do not have to be expensive in order to be a quality product. I got mine on sale for half that price and it was by accident that I discovered them. Even at $40 cdn they are a great price.
Looks VERY uncomfortable.

Actually they are hardly noticable. They don't squeeze the head and are fully adjustable and so is the mic.

As a German player, I want to be relentlessly blow up by russian artillery and rockets at least every 2-3 seconds of my poor existence on every russian/german map.

Realism people. =)

Regardless of the community quirks and questionable administration of monopoly servers.

This mod is levels beyond other games in scope, coding and overall game play.

The other issue are the generation of game players in general. Players now are fickle and bounce around from game to game so quick. One thing wrong and they seem to drop it and move on.

Perhaps this is the fallout of bombarding people with so much media and information. I go to the pub and instead of seeing people drinking and chatting, all I see are people looking down at their phones texting.

But I digress...

We need more administrators to not favor certain players and players to be accountable for their actions online. We need a stronger North American player base and find some way to claw back even a fractional percentage point of that former 3.5 million pool of players.

What about a free kitten shipped after every 25 hours of playtime?

So from my long history as an online gamer. You can have a few admins take power trips and abuse their abilities.

So in this game. It only takes one admin to effectively stop you from ever playing again.

This is the problem.

What is wrong with this community?

Yes,  I said what is wrong.

Why would I ever ask such a question?

It seems as though this engine has been thrown by the wayside by millions. I have done a quick bit of research into this.

So far we have in excess of 3.5 million copies sold and as of late under my somewhat restricted observation (please, I welcome someone's contradiction to this) a total of 100-200 people online at any one time.

Why? This modification of this engine is incredible. I would go so far as to say perhaps the best modification of any game I have experienced so far going back 15+ years (anyone remember mods of Myth, Wolfenstein, and Quake?). Yes I am comparing this mod to historical modifications because I think it is just that historical.

Here is my issue.

Monopoly and monopoly under unjust governance. The current servers are being run by individuals who have a monopoly under their own thinking. Yes we have a right to join whatever server we feel is right but in general, there are a couple of servers who have imprinted on the community their personal, non-print beliefs.

Whoa, what did I say?

What I am talking about are the few servers with players that fit the 32+ player capacity at any reasonable time. Those servers seem to push their set of rules on some people and relax them at other times on others. You either uphold them for all in a mannyer that is unbiased or shut the whole system down period.

I am not going to make this about a certain server. They should know who they are. The ones who let a single player disrupt another players game to the point of making the game not a game but a session of anything but a game. These servers that do not look beyond what is happening to a single players experience but reserve their personal judgement and not the governing rules under which the server operates.

I understand that there are individuals who feel that they are more important than the other 63 people playing on the server and that they feel that they can do whatever they want. The fundamental server rules are in place and are superceded by common sense that a person is playing alongside a team and the team's goal is to win.

No, you do not have the right to TK a person running for the KT if you feel you are better.
No, you do not have the right to force a person from an artillery position because you think they are not as good as you feel they should be.
No, you do not have the right to TK a person waiting for the sniper kit because you want it.
Tking at will and covering it with a sorry allows some to get away with it and admins seem to be ok with it.

I apologize for thos ramble but I had to say something. With the way admins are using personal judgement on feelings and not rules. There is an issue where a person has to make recording and volumes of screen shots to cover their perverbial ass in every situation. I am telling every player here that it is a wise decision to screen shot every situation they run into. To  keep a record of every problem that comes up.

Why would I say this? With a total of 2-3 servers available, you have a great chance to lose your ability to access this game based on the say-so of one individual and the whims of an admin and how their day goes.

Not the idea the developers had.

^ Grandpa: "And, that's how we won WW II... The Jerries simply couldn't match our anti-gravity tanks and laser cannons" :P

Brits pushed Jerries off of Tatooine in 41'.

The supply of Battlefield 2 would help this. People are not going to play a mod if they do not have the game it is based upon or cannot purchase the game.

These people are missing out.

I cannot agree with your highlight of the game.

Thank you for sharing your view of the game though. It deserves such review.

On a personal note. A highlight I found in the game was walking up to a tank (StuG) and actually feeling like I was standing next to the actual thing. Something no game has ever done for me.

128 player server was crashy and at times laggy. Everytime I was on there the server would reset after a couple of maps. I'm not sold on the 2x64 player server but when it worked at times, it was war and bedlam.

Then you have 2-3 64 player servers maxed out and your next server available has ... less than 10 people in it. Boring.
