Suggestions / Re: Garand manually reloading
« on: 23-03-2011, 08:03:10 »
I'm all for adding manual reload for the Garand.  Pull back the operating rod and press the clip release.  Pretty easy process.  Certainly not enough to warrant doubling the reload time.

No reason not to add it.  A compromise I mean.  Sure, you lose the ammunition anyway but the same can be said for every other gun in this game.

Excellent regiment on the 7th Armoured Division players  :P

The Divisional flashes are backwards though and need to face each other.

Im trying to make the same skins but just cant get the objects_client.zip to work properly.

Thanks for the tip, problem has been rectified.

I am sorry to say that this project has been at least for now put on hold.  Classes have resumed and I have been far busier with them than I had anticipated.  That said, I will work to finish optimizing what I have now and finish up a few projects I started with the little free time I have.

Looks like that you change the most time only Markings and some Color Options, i´m right or wrong?
If yes it hurts the Quality of the Textures. Like Toddel said often before.

It's true, the majority of the changes I have made are to alter or add insignia and manipulate some colors.   I have experimented with adding camouflage smocks and zeltbahn to German player-models but the results are less than satisfying.  Modifying the German soldier texture to appear to be a Fallschirmjaeger is about as ambitious as I plan to get with this project.

As far as quality loss goes, the loss of fidelity is rather insignificant and has no major detrimental effect on the overall quality.

The Hudsucker Proxy is a pretty rad film.  In the same vein as Raising Arizona as far as the Coen's films go.

This should be interesting.

hey hanley, you dont by any chance know how to model aswell?  ;D

I wish.  I can make a box, a sphere... a cone... what are the other basic shapes?  I never gave it a real try I suppose.

Just a quick update between classes:

Usually when you hear an account of soldiers in the second world war, generally they're described as having been "too young to shave."  Well, I decided to give the US soldier a face lift.

Well, as I've said, there is now variation to the US uniform.  Although it doesn't get quite as brown as the Ramelle uniform, some certainly appear more brown than others.  This is meant to reflect the actual color variation uniforms were produced with.

On some tanks some dirtying up is necessary.  The 76mm model of Sherman is a prime example.  It appears that it came out of a car-wash and rushed  into battle.

Books, the internet, scale models... Pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

German armor is on the agenda, but my focus is on the allies right now.  With the British and Canadians just about done, my focus is now on my own country - Americans.

Here's Derby, a tank of the Second Armored Division present on Cobra.

Nice work, what do you think about a panther reskin ?

I think that is a fantastic question.

Rolling on.

Here is what may be my favorite tank of the war.

I suppose I should have added a "now" in there at some point.  Regardless, yes, I have made further modifications to the texture.
