Lee Enfield No1 MkIII
and the M1917 Enfield

it's hard to choose though, as I really enjoy the Italian Rifles. Can't name what it is, but it's somehow really entertaining to use. But I have to stay true to my Enfields.

ps.
What is this Pattern 17 everyone is talking about? ;)

Here you go smartass :)

The M1917 Enfield, the "American Enfield" (frequently misidentified or mislabeled as the "P17", "P1917", or "Pattern 1917").

i just missed 4 shots at 150 meters on Brest  ;D

It seems to have changed along with the patches. I started playing FH2 with 2.25 and I seemed to have the easiest time with the 98 in that patch. At 2.3 i had a lot of trouble hitting things, but now it seems to have changed again? Could just be me and going in and out of the game a lot but now I don't have any more problems with it.  :-\

Voted for the Long Carcano since I was amazed on what I could do with it. 500m shot through the window and only the guy's head was showing. I could see anything, just a black dot. BANG! dead. Made 20 kills and cleared-out a whole building.

That's my 1st chioce and right alongside it the SMLE No.1. For that rugged look and awesome performance.

I don't think the Carcano is on any map with 500m view distance.

It wouldnt surprise me though. Anyone who is in the shooting distances, knows that a Swedish mauser, carcano or Mannlicher-shoenauer in the 6.5 calibre, will be more accurate then a K98 or an enfield.

Wait then how comes that there are tons of accounts from Greek soldiers of WW2 stating that the Italian rifles were shit ?

Maybe they are refering to the lousy damage inflicted by the 6.5mm (surgeon gun) calibre.

Thats because the italians treated the carcano's the wrong way. The italians had the urge to over-lubericate every weapon they had. The carcano was also a victim of this. The italians stuffed there carconis with grease and fat, not oil.. This changed after the Italian invasion of Greece though.

The problem was also italian ammo manufactures. Half of them very good, the other half frauded with the bullets... Loads where varying, and so became accuracy.

ocieta Metallurgica Italiana and Pirotechnia di Bologna Where considerd great rounds, but the other ones....

I have 2 carcano clips with ammo. inert though as live rounds are forbidden. One from Ocieta metallurgica italiana and one from Bombrini, Parodi & Delfino... The diffrence between them is use. The ones from Bombrini, Parodi & Delfino Are just plain steel bullets, no coating of copper or nothing..

This summer i've read a soldiers statement that "The Italians did not have good "steel"(meaning guns). They lacked the accuracy of ours. They also preferred to fire from the hip rather than stand and aim."

lets just say italians soldiers wherent properly trained aswel

At the yearly NATO rifle competition, Italy still shoots with carcano M1891 rifles and they often end up in the top 5

The Caracano is accurate enough to hit a moving target 100 meters away twice in five seconds, causing about a dozen wounds, if fired from the top floor a book depository. ;)

No. 4, because it is the one rifle that allows me to hit at long distance every time. Me and that rifle in a bomb crater can hold armies at bay :-)
