If a browser collects the sites u visit, it isn't the same as actively scanning your harddrive
About what could be discovered? nothing i care about, only thing they might be interested in is the movies and music on my harddrive, but downloading songs and movies is legal in my country so there also isn't a problem there. I just don't agree with the idea they have the right to do so just because they have made a good game, so i don't accept their stuff and if others do so, that's their call. If they want to make more money, they should ask more for the game, not the marketing stuff in my opinion, of course, others will like the game those few euros cheaper, they do what they want, i do mine.

PS: the fact they state the EULA that clearly, means they can actually do it, if it isn't stated clearly, law states in practically every country that the part in which it stands should be interpreted against the one who made it up. So if they make it too vague, they can't do it.

Anyway, back to BF4?

You still are blowing the whole "scanning hard drive" out of proportion. This isn't EA hunting down illegal copies of games and music for prosecution of individuals. Like programs like Xfire, Steam, Ubisofts U-Play, it scans your hard drive for installed games, and takes note of which games you have installed to again, as I said, market games to you. I don't get what you see as so invasive about that, when its done by so many others, and done WAY before Origin was ever an idea on a piece of paper.

"Do you have something to hide?"

Why don't we break into your house and check what you've got. I bet you won't be disturbed.

Its not even remotely close to the same thing. That analogy is pointless.

Actually, IIRC, the computersearch is protected by the same constitutional right in Belgium as housesearches (art. 15 constitution) since the constitutional court orders it to be read together with article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights and article 17 International Covenant on Civil and Politic Rights.

So that analogy is actually really nice

I want many city maps and I want to block roads by destroying buildings.  :( I would do nothing but to block roads so enemy can't move.  :D

I just really like what DICE is doing with this. The levolution idea is incredible. Making sure no two games are the same and putting the choice in the players hands, it really sets it apart from other mainstream FPSs.

I hope they at least make the cannons mannable but the ship stationary. Oh, or either make it like the AC130 from BF3: Circling around an are and the guns are player-manned.

And yeah, Levolution looks really appetizing.

Well my ears were raped... But at least it looks better than BF 3... Now when do we get the feeling of freedom of BF1942 back? Massive maps, open paths of attack, steer carriers, command fleets, do some s*** with the subs... In Battlefield 5?
This sentence is intentionally left unfinished...

Those physics and gimmicks are really nice. :D

But I wanna bet that there will be only a couple of gimmicks per map, which then will get heavily camped while all others will heavily avoid those spots.

Well, and then you'll have this fast-paced modern combat scenario, spraying automatic weapons while dancing flamenco with your enemy. And when you finally won a duel, some fresh noob comes around the corner and one-shot kills you. Besides all those backcappings, flying saucers, no frontline and total chaos, while whole squads will prefer to hunt snipers instead of capping flags.

That suddenly makes my smile vanish. :-\

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

Reality is that in time, all these gimmicks become the norm as you play the same maps all the time. Once players learn to know when and what causes these things, they know how to counter them and the rounds start to become similar to one-another eventually until you get to the point that it's still all the same. Nice idea, but it is something that could be done already with existing engines so I wouldnt call this the "next gen innovation". Cool little gimmicks, but it's nothing more than a gimmick.

Unless they pour gazillion of these little features in each room and every possible place, it'll become "nothing special" feature in relatively fast fashion to the junkies who play nothing but one game at one time for hundreds of hours.

Cool but... is this really what should sell the game for me?

Exactly.

Bring me an FPS with 128P, Battlefield gamemode, Cold war era with 7 armies wich have there Reallife equipment. Thats what i will consider something new.

Or a good game set in Vietnam (well, apart from BFV), that would be something new.
And about this LEVOLUTION-thing (talk about a stupid name huh?), so basically we're finally able to do stuff we were able to do for years. (to a much lesser extent though) Only now its advertised like its the most important feature ever.
