Red Orchestra: Ostfront was available to buy in the shops so I don't seem why they should make it Steam only ?
I really don't see any reason to buy a physical copy of a game that you can get from Steam.If its cheaper, then hell yes.
I'd rather have a Mafia 2 DL-DVD then a bought copy in an image. Why? because If I somehow lose the installation or something goes wrong I'll have to re-download the content. So that means another 10-20GB of files. Why should I bother with re-downloading a thing that I can have always on DVD?

Really? I wonder what programs you are talking about, surely not steam because when i start up my computer absolutely nothing happens until I double click the icon and it starts up. I didn't play RO and I think I'm seriously ripped-off of the experience that it can deliver. I've watched the clips on youtube about gameplay, seems close to the 1945 BF just with more functionalities.
If RO HoS comes in a phyisic copy I'm gonna buy it since I think it's a really good game and enables some things like tank crews for manning tanks and bipod mounts etc.etc.
And I just found out about a month ago that RO was a mod.

Wilson state it was ingame animation so i can't wait to see what the crew is doing when a round penetrates the tank !That´s something I didn´t think about so far. I really wonder how the AI will react to a burning tank. Will they bail out or will they just stay on their positions, dumb as bots can be? And how are the effects if your tank is being hit, but not penetrated? Will spalling be included and will your view and hearing be obscured/deafened from the sound of the impact? So many questions, and yet such a long time untill the release :(

Best thing about that gameplay trailer was it showed the C96 and Nagant 1895 pistols <3.Yes!! I loved those guns in the mod.
Lets just see if this game has the same destiny as its prequel did. RO was all ooh aah and the best thing in the world for *couple of weeks* and then it died flat on its arse...You´re sure?
I dont care about player numbers themselfs but game mechanics and style. RO suffered from very clumsy feeling infantry combat and the tank combat was even more horrid. I loved the details but god, how fun is it that the tanker who is fastest to drive the IS-2 or Tiger to the high point of a map and starts dominating everything from there? Tank combat was nothing but sitting about and sniping, no epic rushes.I honestly think your opinion is in the minority. IMO the biggest problem with RO1 was that it was brutal on noobs, and most people hated it when they first played it because they got owned by experienced players and some aspects of the gameplay came off as clunky. Then, if they got past that 2 week period of frustration, they loved or at least somewhat liked the game.
That is where the game died on me. After initial ooh-aah experience, it turned out not to be a fun game. And since I base this on my own opinion, yes I am bloody sure.

The only things that are "pre-done" are some custom animations for the video like the Commissar telling them to charge, the German squadleader who leads his squad through the street, and all the facial animations throughout the video. But all of it is ingame and uses real assets and many real animations.

The thing is in this video you don't know what's real and what's not. Take the BF2 intro for example, you can see some animations, like the Chinise guy slapping a fly, that off course isn't portrayed in the real game.
Having said that I am really pumped for this game, looks fantastic!!
Chinese guy slapping a fly is an idle animation and is ingame :-* The dropping weapons however, are not.

I have never seen one of those in Stalingrad ever, not even in pictures. To my knowledge, just 11k prototypes were constructed and it was ultra rare to even be in the hands of a soldier in Stalingrad. Besides, later the first models of the MP43 were being constructed.

:) RO2 is presented by the expert as the best multiplayer game of 2011.
:D and their support of modding is so great that we will certainly get the quality mod only few month after the release.

Why I am sceptical is only because they have tendencies to entangle their designs too much in detailed features that dont really have anything to do with the shooter experience... these games usually just results in that players after having gone through the learning process, confuses the game play with these features. Like in PR. the actual battlefield2 experience is totally unaffected by requesting kits from some magic box, talking to friends on VoIP, moving in formation, 3p animations, sound and weapon-models. All these are "outside" the real game, and therefor uninteresting to me.

Getting up quickly from the floor is really complicated in RO:OST and one of the most frustrating things in the game. I´ve already seen that "get-up-and-sprint-by-pressing-one-key"-feature in Battleground Europe and loved it.
Sure, it´s just a small feature compared to fully detailed tanks, but one that makes the game more fluid and less frustrating.
The rest looks fine, too, even though I´m not a real fan of levelling up and unlocking achievements.

On that note, can you name specific weapons, or at least the types of weapons, we can expect to see?
AW- Some of it is obvious – Kar 98, MP40, MG34, P38, G41 for the Germans, Mosin-Nagant, PPSh, DP28, TT33 for the Soviets. Add in a few extras such as the C96, Nagant revolver and a few for people to argue over – the AVT-40 (full auto version of the SVT – complete brute) and the MkB42(H) prototype, for instance. PTRS anti-tank rifle, stock of grenades, MG34 on the Lafette tripod, Maxim heavy MG.
I like the fact rare things are included. But god damnit wheres my scoped Lafette!!! :o

If they want rare things, there were more KP-31 Soumi's serving with the Croatian regiment at Stalingrad than there were Mkb42's in the entire battle.
It will be possible to have a server without the hero system won't it? I'm sure most realism communities won't tolerate the feature, so I believe there is still hope that I can just ignore it and avoid the mainstream servers. The tanking system is the best I've ever seen and I really hope this game turns out to be good.As far as I know all it does is changing your looks, ingame rank and morale bonus on nearby troops. It doesn't make you a superhuman.

Soldiers are inspired by experienced soldiers and thus cap faster, also they are more effective around experienced soldiers. Seems pretty natural to me. Also if the Germans or Russian want to test new weapons in combat why not give it to experience soldiers who can give usefull feedback about it. I really dont see what the drawn back is in this matter. On the other hand if you dont like it i dont mind, nobody forces you to play it :)
On the 23rd of January 1943, 18 wounded Croatians were flown out of Stalingrad. They were the last Croatians to leave Stalingalive. Amongst these lucky souls was Croatian Sergeant Juric, who wrote and carried with him to safety the Kriegstagbuch (unit war diary) of the 369th Reinforced Regiment, thereby saving for posterity the ultimate memorial to these brave men. The only entry in the diary after January 23rd 1943 is "February 2, 1943, Stalingrad has fallen"..
"A production run of these modified versions was sent to the field in November 1942, and the users appreciated it with a few reservations. Another set of modifications added a hinged cover over the ejection port to keep it clean in combat, and rails to mount a telescopic sight. A run of these modified MKb 42(H)s in late 1942 and early 1943 produced 11,833 guns for field trials"

I doubt that reality-based developers ignore such a fact just for fun. It's probably for gameplay reasons, i.e. maybe they want the MG42 lafette's for suppressing fire only and not as a full auto sniper (like it is in FH2).

Look at the Mp40. It's the one with the dual mags. I've seen them before but I doubt they where common. Oy, I just getting it for the Pacific mod and hope that we will see a FH3. 8)

The AVT was only produced in 1943, rather late for stalingrad scenarios, unless they have 1943 Kessel maps, but even that is a stretch. The Mkb42 only had 5 or so in the entirety of stalingrad. There is an exhaustive thread in the ro forum in which it is proven that there were no MKB42s at all in Stalingrad. The first production batch from 42 was not send t the front but tested in Germany. The first front trials began in the spring of 1943 (April I think).

From what the Devs posted, weapons such as the Mkb-42 and MP-40 with double-magazine will be extremely rare, so that you wont see 3rd Reich Elite Troopers, armed with pimped guns. And server admins can use mutators to disable the use of these "unhistorical" weapons, making sure that historical accuracy is guaranteed.
Combined with great gameplay mechanics, improvements and nice graphics RO:HOS is definately a must-buy and I´ll preorder it as soon as possible! :D

And there is bound to be a 20 page thread of "OMG MkB42 Swat German" that rants and raves. Now instead of doing that, why don't you guys just hold off. Yes we're trying to expand the playerbase of the game, and yes a lot of our marketing art will be aimed at attracting a new audience. Why is that? Because we don't need to convince the RO faithful to check out RO. You guys already like RO1, and have at least some interest in RO2. Joe gamer does not, and we want to get "joe gamer" to have a look at the game. It is all about peaking their interest, and if we try and market the game like RO1, we'll attract only the same people. I would say it comes with a very good amount of content, compared to other games and with full mod support the community will get more and different content, too (and don´t forget that TWI will release new maps and vehicles, for free, later).
But why's the standard game only going to be £25 when it's first released when other games are usually £30-35? Does it have a very limited amount of content/maps? (I haven't really read any details about the game at all)

Until i see a real MP fight with what it is all about huge open maps not the bfbc2 narrowness and until i see helicopters, plaines etc and som real MP footage im not going to pre order somthing that as far as i now looks wery similar to bfbc2 visualy up to now, even with the better destructible enviroment we have seen from the video footage from the metro map witch is also more or less only inf combat with 1 or 2 light vihicles.
Even the curent alpha of bf3 is the Metro map and the gameplay from bfbc2 were you have to take out 2 boxes then you move on to the next section of the map etc.
And single player well ho cares i dont, that have newer been and will newer be the reason why i ever have or will play BF games at all, it have been for the MP only and the mods.
Ontop of this RO2 even already have like 3 mods in the works, and il bet my ass on we will see alot more ones the game and mod tools are released in around 1 month.

Another thing i can go on youtube and find atleast 1-2 total houers of different gameplay videos and MP videos from RO2 i know they have a shorter time to there release but still it is there, i cant with BF3 and its supose to be released in i think late oktober.
The only good thing i have seen visualy so far have been the single player tank map/thing from E3 witch lasted 12 min. But wen ever we see any MP footage like i have said before its always theese wery short flashing glimses of more or less nothing.

They already said they'll be adding more in the coming patches, its just that they didnt have time/couldnt be arsed to make loads of vehicles.

We knew people would be unhappy about the delay ? and we agonized over whether we should do it or not. Someone has already drawn the parallel on the forums: our earlier games have only really hit a real volume of users after launch. We know it is bad timing, after starting the pre-purchase last week. But the response brought home that the pre-purchase beta phase isn?t going to have 100s of people in it, with a few servers ? it is going to have potentially 10s of 1000s of people in it. Which is obviously great news. But it IS a Beta (it isn?t some ?marketing/PR Beta? with the game finished 2 months ago) ? and the large volume of people WILL throw up odd and weird little bugs that only come to light in bulk testing. Code and QA want the chance to fix that stuff before we actually release the finished product.
So people understand, internally no dates are being pushed back. Everything will still be finished to the same dates as for the original release date. What we are doing is buying ourselves 2 extra weeks of QA and bug-fix time.
We haven?t released dates of the next phases of the Beta testing, but they aren?t far away. We already have the first of the press in the Beta, with a ?preview? phase for the press scheduled to run over the next couple of weeks or so. After that, we?ll be ready for the final phase of the beta, with the pre-purchasers getting their hands on the game.
We haven?t taken this decision lightly: moving a release date late in the day is a nightmare. We?ve done it because we feel it will make a difference to the product on launch day ? for the better, obviously. Moving a schedule that involves a large (for us) marketing budget, physical production and distribution to the retailers across the glove, as well as disappointing the fans who have waited a long time for this game, isn?t easy. But in this case, we feel it will be worth the pain.

They're an unlockable for all classes, yes. Less frustrating for riflemen who get stuck in close combat this way.

I really liked the "Red Octobre Factory" shown in TBs second video! Also the playermodels look really, really good and I like those small details, such as a spare barrel container on the German machine gunner. Too bad the Beta was delayed, too, so it seems like I somehow have to hibernate untill the 30th August >.<

I have never played a game that actually made me feel bad for killing someone. To give you an example of what I’m talking about, I shot an enemy soldier in the stomach and I was close enough to hear him. He didn’t just scream and die; he bled out, crying and sobbing in Russian while he died… Slowly. For a few seconds I honestly thought, “sorry dude.” Those aren’t the only sounds you will hear. There has been more than one time I have been in a different room with an ally, heard a gunshot go off, and then heard my ally screaming, SCREAMING, in agony as he died. It’s very hard to describe the feeling that it gives you, but it definitely adds intensity and emotion into the game.
Scripted singleplayer is nice and all, but IMO their time is much better spent working on the multiplayer. Lets be honest, on average singleplayer is what, 6-10 hours of gameplay? Whereas multiplayer on games such as bf1942, bf2, TF2, RO1, has hundreds, possibly thousands hours of gameplay in them. We expect no less from RO2 and working on singleplayer instead of having few more online maps would be a waste of the devs time really...

Sure, but 10 hours for 50 euro is OK price for entertainment if you ask me. If the multiplayer isnt compelling enough, at least you can get some fun out of the game for the price you pay by playing a cool SP campaign.
also, developing single player is usually done separatly from MP, but I have no idea how many designers Tripwire has, could be they are sweating to even get the MP done in time.. + the fact that their core fanbase only wants to frag eachother... Problem for this particulat studio could potentially be that they don't show much interest in expanding outside their core.. this leaves them extremely vulnurable if the core lets them down. Singleplayer has the power of introducing new players to the fanbase, which can convert to being core players after a while, which will be much needed for their next game after this, since a huge part of the old core certainly will have left by then.
I wonder why all you guys want to see screenshots and beta gameplay. We all know what RO was, we all read that RO2 will be the same, but more polished and better. Why ruin the surprise? I will see what the game is when i play it, i don't want it spoiled, i mean, if i saw everything in beta gameplay, and read everything about it that there is to know, why still buy it? They have instant kills if you get shot in the head or heart, prolonged deaths with other hits to vital organs, and non vital hits that cause bleeding (that kills you eventually unless bandaged - which stops the health loss but doesn't add extra health).

In the original post you quoted I was more or less praising TWI for releasing a multitude of game modes and a SDK which will further enhance the playtime of the game, unlike DICE/EA who have decided against it and instead will sell tons of DLCs to their fans, whereas TWI will even release free DLCs. Flyboy, AFAIK the langauge settings can be changed. Standard is that your team speaks English with a matching accent, while the enemy speaks his native language. Therefore it´s easier to understand what your teammates say.You could say that it makes the game more realistic. If you were a Russian soldier you would be able to understand your native language (Russian) but not German, therefore when I play as Russians I'll hear my native language (English) and German (which I understand a lot less). If you can change the language setting, it is ok for me. For me as a German, who is also able to understand Russian a littlebit, it feels more realistic, if the soldiers speak their native language. But for someone like you, who isn't able to understand no of this languages, it is indeed a little help. I think they made a good improvement on this. But in BC2 you have also russian taunts and so on and they are very good to understand. I think the use of the right languages adds a lot of immersion. And it isn't the case, that the soldiers are telling whole stories. So after a while you get the meaning of the taunts and alerts. A game, where this wouldn't fit is for example ArmA II, a game with much more complex dialogs. that white dot in the tank's sight is the mouse moving, the turret follows it, so they move exactly at the speed they are coded to move, and move mechanicaly while still following the mouse and pointing at there the mouse is.
I don't know why they had to fix something that wasn't broken, but I'm holding off with further comments until I have played it. I'll admit the "WoT system" doesnt seem that bad.In ROHOS you need the WAD keys to give orders to the driver of the tank (i.e. "W"="Drive forward!").

demo?No, a demo is a limited version of the full game. A beta is there to test things. And this 2 weeks beta is there to mainly test the server stress and to see how well it can play in lots of rounds with 64 players, etc.

Well of course they have tested those thing already before. This is just last confirmation that everything works. Nothing sucks more than broken game on release.
Ah dammit, my 2.1 ghz amd dual core ruins this :( :(It "might" work on slowest settings, but I kinda doubt it. You *could* (in theory) get the DDE version on Steam, test the beta if it´d run on your laptop and if it won´t ask Steam for a refound. Steam generally takes back games when they´re not yet released, you just need to ask Steam Support.
After some more playing:I was actually kind of excited, when I first saw that you couldn't turn around in a trench, when prone. Its something we have all gotten used to since bf1942, but is something very silly if you think about it: spinning on your stomach with your feet flying through walls.
Apart from the servers crashes, there a few other things ive noticed:
The collision with objects is annoying as hell, you hear someone and you try and turn round while prone next to a wall you vission keeps snapping back, and ofc you get killed.
The third map (the airbase, with the tanks-only TE mode) is a bit of a pisstake, because if you get put in the hull MG you've pretty much been shafted. And being stuck with only the MG sights it gets pretty annoying aswell.That's dissapointing. IMO tanks shouldn't have more than 2 people in them, for the sake of gameplay. I mean the possibility of doing it should definitely available, but players shouldn't be forced to be in a tank with 2 other people. I take it that particcular map doesn't have any roles for infantry?

Yeah but that doesn't make much sense on a tnak only map.
My specs are...With a better graphic card you could run it at medium with some low and like 1 high setting. I got a 9800GT and 2 GB ram (wich is less than you) and I can run it like this.

I just upgraded myself to deluxe edition and tried to play a few rounds. It's difficult because I usually use my own control setup, and in the beta you are stuck with the stock setup. Is there any thread or something in their forums that has all the controls? I would search it myself, but I don't have an acoount there (I use hotmail)

I definitely am not part of their intended playerbase. I get annoyed by things that kill me when I cant see them and have no means of responding to them. I dont mind dying, I just like dying while fighting, not get killed by some pixel in the other side of the map. :)I find it just makes actually killing someone all that more rewarding :)

Now I have played the beta for two hours. Wow. It's real fun, but molests my comp. I'm having around 30-50 fps on low. You might think "30-40" fps aint so bad, but let me tell you something: This game looks like HL1 on low graphics, but only then is it playable for me. I need an upgrade, I can enjoy beautiful graphics like on the screenshots. And there is some bugs in this game. But I guess the devs will put some love in it and fix it.

Some of these tricks really helped improving FPS, especially turning off frame rate smoothing and frame thread lag. I still run the game with arounf 30 to 40 FPS (sometimes even less), but I´m going to get a new desktop PC today, anyway.

I said it flyboy, don't be surprised if you lag or have problems with your crappy card. You really need to change it. A good tip is to reduce the shadow quality to medium. This gives you another 20FPS on any system. :)

Imo the game sucks, 5/10. Seems like they rushed it. Overall the game is just so uninspiring that I uninstalled it past mission 3. It's horrible, so much hype for nothing.'just like FH2, it's not really meant for SP, even tough there is such thing.

... I have to admit, it still feels like a beta, rather than a released game, but since it is tripwire we are dealing with, I'm willing to forgive them and I have full faith in them to fix everything in the upcoming months.
... And speaking of the squad system, it is not working. Most of the time I don't have a clue who are in my squad. Spawning on squadleader makes you spawn in the strangest places.So true, it's especially bad, when your SL is hiding behind cover. ^^
I like that they made it so that squads have realistic roles- 1MG, 1 elite rifleman, some assault and the rest regular rifleman. However they totally fucked it up by allowing so many squads to be created. Most of the time the only spots occupied are the "special classes", while nobody is playing the most common class - the rifleman.
But even with all these issues, I'm enjoying the game.

I´m also a bit disappointed that TWI was using these "hero" weapons as marketing effect for their DDE, but now everyone can use those. Not that I got the DDE for the weapons (infact, I only paid 23 Euros for it, so I´m the last person to complain about having paid too much), but I can understand people bitching about that fraud. Also seeing them in such masses kinda defeats the whole "hero" thing...I´m waiting for an official statement, though and still hope that they´ll correct it....
Many people who didn´t buy the DDE can still use the "hero" weapons, even though they didn´t unlock them. "Day-1 access" of those weapons was used to promote the DDE and seeing people playing with them, even though they´ve neither unlocked them nor paid for early access feels like...fraud? A little bit atleast. ^^
Why is it a 'fraud'? With the DDE you gain early access to the Hero weapons and the SVT/G41. Seeing how many people bought the DDE it's just what could have been expected. ^^
I believe once the Stats system is up and running without glitches, things will pan out. Getting the Hero slot with a battlefield commission is a great suggestion and should be considered by TWI. That commission thing is brilliant! ^^

Look, even the FH team puts limited kits and rare pickup kits in-game to reflect historical availability. What the TWI guys did is pure blasphemy. First of all, they included a weapon that was possibly never actually used in Stalingrad, and then they gave it to every noob and his mom. That's pure bull****.

AFAIK this is only possible on non-ranked servers and since everyone seems to play only on ranked servers that´d be pretty much a death sentence.

Picture it like this, lets say there was some weapon that was really rare in a battle, but you didn't want to hand that weapon out to every soldier on the battlefield. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a system where just a few (but not all) soldiers could use those really cool rare weapons from time to time? That is sure as heck more realistic than just having a whole bunch of them in the game.
I'm not going to go into detailing what exactly the Hero system is or how the player progression works. We've got to save some things for later, otherwise we've got no info to pass out as we go along in development (its called PR and working the press). Lets just say ROHOS is still a tactical shooter.
You don't level up to hero, and are always a hero. You level up to the point of being a hero "candidate". The game also limits the number of heros allowable on a server. So through some jedi voodoo in the background the server picks the heros from the possible hero candidates, up to the limit set by the server. So unless a server admin goes nuts with their settings (and they can't get too crazy unless they are running custom mode), you'll never have a bunch of heroes in one server.

Yep, here is what it does:
We've got an update uploaded to Valve that should be released today. The update includes the following changes:
- fixed DDE content being awarded when it should/shouldn't be
- fixed RO1 content being awarded when it should/shouldn't be
- fixed the server browser not responding after disconnecting from a game
- removed MKB/AVT from Squad Leaders/Commanders, only Assault gets it now
And an update released yesterday included an undocumented change:
- improved performance for the Ultra setting
And before anyone asks - no it does not fix/change every other possible thing under the sun It fixes what it says it fixes, nothing more, nothing less. We're chewing through the issues as fast as we can, and you'll probably see another update on Monday.

The current state of RO2 makes me play and appreciate RO1/DH all the more. It's terrible and a big step backwards toward Call of Duty. The only nice new thing is first person cover system.I never saw a reason why you had to spawn outside tanks in RO1. And bailing the tanks would mostly have a cinematic value for the enemies, not much more.
RO1 became much better over time, following new maps and mods. RO2 also will get better in the same regard. Tripwire says that they will be adding a ton of stuff that didn't make it into the release. RO2 has only a fraction of guns and vehicles that RO1 has.
Most of the maps are small, close quarters. When you aim down the sights, you get a very large zoom. Combine this with a rifle in tight quarters and you get punishing tunnel vision. Did I mention you get an extra zoom by pressing Shift anytime? Haha! Your MP40 can snap off headshots all day.
You cannot enter/exit tanks, but only respawn inside one. Pretty huge ramifications.
MGs are straight out of vanilla BF2 with all the deviation and recoil. To actually hit anything, you can single fire the MG34. So you aren't firing an MG so much as a large capacity rifle. If you enjoyed using MGs in RO1, your dreams are crushed! It seems the only way I score kills with MGs in RO2 is by using its penetration to blindfire through obstacles. Since most guns have 8X ACOG, you will get sniped if you try to use a MG like a MG. You know, area denial, suppression, if not raw killing power. The kill cam will guarantee if you setup somewhere and actually kill someone, they will just come back and snipe you.

You´re right, I just checked their forums and I found no hint that we´ll see flyable helos in-game, instead they will probably be used as commander assets (scout and fire support). A new patch was released today, wich did more harm then goodi played about 2 hours today with the new patch and didnt see any problems. nothing has changed. i didnt crash once. my framerate is the same like yesterday. i guess youre unlucky :D

That could be a thermal problem. Most Laptops have a safety feature that switches the laptop off once a critical temperature is reached.Thanks for the answer, I suspected something like this. Oh well, looks like I´ll have to buy a new desktop PC tonight. ^^
Funny thing happened to me on the weekend with my Smartphone. They too have this sensor and it just couldn't handle GPS navigation combined with sun on the dashboard and just wouldn't run for more than 5min. ^^

- Single Player Fix - fixed "double music" playing when loading the game from a checkpoint
- Added the ability to enable webadmin through the commandline. This will allow you to override what is in the ini files, thus fixing up any issues with inis getting overwritten by updates. To enable webadmin via the commandline add EnableWebAdmin=True to the "?" separated commandline parameters. To set the webadmin port add WebAdminPort= to the "?" separated commandline parameters.
As a heads up, we are continuing to work on the following:

Did a game test on my new PC yesterday and I can run everything on ultra, except for bloom, which I´ve turned off because it kinda makes me sea-sick. I get constant 40-50 FPS and the game just looks beautiful, I can´t understand why people say it looks like crap. o0
Yesterday I´ve also seen a hero for the first time and the player model looked quite good actually, with dirt all over it, truely like someone who spent too much time fighting in a city. Very nice.
My stats also seem to work just fine, but I really hope TWI won´t reset all the stats because of many players leveling up because of bugs. I´d really like to keep what I´ve unlocked for myself. :/
An option for each player where they can decide if they want to reset their stats or not would be nice. I can understand those who "bugged up" the ranks that they might reset their stats, but a full reset would suck very badly for those who actually unlocked all their stuff...

We have reset stats for the beta. This is to test not only the process but the stats gained afterwards.
Stats will currently be doubled. But as a heads up, an example of current points can be found in the following:
Assists: 1
Kills: 2
Capture an Objective: 10

Although it fealt strange thing to have, it actually works rather well in simulating how the human eye works. You can see this if you take a look at at what ranges the fighting takes place usually. Most kills in my experience are made at 100 meters, some at 200. Now a trained soldier should not have trouble hitting a stationary target at 300 meters. So it is in fact realistic to have this.Meh.

Also waiting for mods. The killer for me is the fact that everyone has cybernetic ultrazoom. I can't believe they would do this to an RO sequel. I hope mods fix this.

and rename them like the above ones! Important number to number! Than replace them with the eng versions and you have the native langugage of the country you play! Tried it out with infantry and tanks and it works well! Have fun with a much more intense and authentic battlefield!

The current plan involves keeping most of the new features of RO 2, however one of the main and most requested items is the removal of the weapon upgrade system and replacing it with a standardized loadout. I can confirm that we will be implementing a system like this for the new mode.
Call Orchestra 2: Stalingrad Assault ;DIndeed. They wanted to attract both the CoD/BF players and the old RO1 players. So they made the game somewhere in between and no one wanted it.
After all not surprised about fail. If they do RO1 with new graphics, all ok, but they pass the CoD and MoH line, and result. And bugs, lots of bugs...

Finding no servers in-game seems to be a common problem. I "solved" it, though, by using the Steam server browser.
Many have problems with downloading.. steam servers are going nuts.
I hope that mods will be mainly made for that mode and not original unlock etc. crap.^Word on this perkele.

Tried it out today and I love it! They got rid of that nonsense bionic eyes zoom, and the current IS zoom is still enough to scout and see everything if you focus. The game is fairly slower paced with everyone advancing cautiously. Rarely you see people running around and hipfiring MGs all over the place. Plus the MGs are real suppressive weapons now, when one gets you in their sight you better keep your head low, as trying to return fire is a death sentence...First game where I RARELY return fire on MGs. Heck even in DH and RO1 it was easier to return fire on the MGs because the supression was not affecting your sway like now.
