I saw that a guy made a SNOW_BF2Tpaint,

his link to download it is dead so maybe someone have it and could re-upload it!!

I'm not so proud of my textures in fact...Those are too complex,I want to make the same texture than Bastogne map.

Snow textures are my only problem becuse there is no "snow.dds" in ColorTexture...

Also, I can show you some screenshots of what my map lokks like in the game, and the same points of view in Foy ( the real town):

Ok!

I didn't know that!

This model is include in fh2/staticobject/bulge/foychurch

So if dev's are working on Foy, they'll use it... Even if I noticed some textures problem on the roof...

Please tell me what does it look like...

And, some screens, 4 of the forest south of foy and one showing western farm (the first real "E" company's objective) from Bois Jacques.

Nice, don't you think?

First of all: nice project. Keep on working on it very hard.  :)

About the pictures: it's very hard to imagine how it will look at the end.

Try to give screenshots only from ingame, maybe with a quick lightmapping done so the trees look real.

I personally like the forest setting but as the trees don't look right for the moment (that's why quick lightmapping and ingame shot :-) ) it's hard to tell. Try to work on your ground textures and think about to not make it compeltly free.

It shouldn't be a too forced gameplay but still give players a play direction, which usually results as well in places to hide / duck.  :)

Hi Nissi,

Thanks for your comments.

I tried to laucnh a local server to see what does it look like, but BF2 crashed at 44-46%.

Also, at this time, I try to draw fields. To do that, I need fences, I used woodenfence_snow, and farmbarbedwire_fence (north africa!!).But I need a fence made with planks... And those barbed wire fences which can be found on Bastogne next to Bizory.

Last thing, here is the attack plan during the real attack AFAIK.

Do not use africa statics on your bulge map, leads to lag and crashes.

AH.... Ok!

Can I use France stuff?

There is not all objects and building I want in Bulge file. Like I want to make a realistic map with building wich look like real ones, I got to choose some France buildings. I know they maybe won't have snow on teir rooftops.

Yes you can use France statics, since they use the same textures as the Bulge ones.

Ok, thanks...

I got a problem...

I can't test my map in local server. Eveytime I try it, it crashes. (36%/44%/46%)

Topic about map crashes pourcentage says taht I have to delete overgrowth and undergrowth on the secondary terrain, but I don't know what's the secondary terrain.

By the the way, does anybody can explain me where I can find planks fences?

Secondary terrain is the one that is only there for planes.

The following link is a stick in the fh2 modding area: It shows you some known crash causes of maps, have a look at it and try to eliminate what it could be

http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=14013.0

-------------------------------------

Planked fences: I know there are several vertical plank fences in France/Bulge set. I don't know the name of the static by heart but I can reccomend you in such moments: unzip the level folder of a map where you have seen a static that you can't find. You open the level in the editor and just activate the static there. Then you know the name. :)

All that remains is that you can browse then through your fh2 folder and windows will tell you were your static is hiding.  :D

Maybe this method is too long but I do it usually like this.

------------------------

What I noted was: You work quite close to the map boundary. I would pick a bit a larger map so that one does not get too close to the boundary. Surely it can be worked around with the surrounding terrain but jus make sure that one does not spot the cut between the inbound and outbound area.

Keep on your work, I know how much time it needs.  :)

You're right, my map is too little. But I really worked on it, so I don't want to start again.

Planked fences: Ok, thank you, I'll find those.

I already read the topic and it says that I got to delete plants on surrounding terrain. I did it except for Bois Jacques, I don't want to delete overgowth and undergrowth in there. I'm stuck!

Jesus, it's hard to make a good map!!

I also want you to notice that it's my first FH2 map....

Yeah it takes a lot of time and it's hard. Keep on working. :)

Some people say that the first few maps are anyway needed to learn the tools and tricks.

Well I'm about to restart.

I will use Terragen and 3DEM even if it gives me a weird terrain... Got to manage to do what I want to do with this software.
