Yeah I think it is a fairly new theory. I think it's mostly based on the fact that there is no written texts from socrates, he didn't write down his thoughts, all you know about him is mentioned in what Plato has written.

If you watch the movie, you'll notice at the end of the battle there are no Incom T-76 speeders left since the At-At's took them all down, so thats not a legitimate pwn!
