A real tactic (that was used in the Buldge) was to put rifle's between the roadwheels and shoot the periscopes. Then all you has to do was wait for the white flag since your KT could no longer drive nor see.

Do you know what was the strategy to blow up a KT ?
I suppose that tankers were likely to avoid engaging such a tank frontally.
I'm not an expert at all in real life tank fighting, but I guess that flanking attacks were highly recommanded, even if a Cromwell was able to penetrate the turret (whish I guess was really hard to manage, unlike in the game).
The strategy was to fall back
then the KT would follow them and break down  ;D
Yes, most common practice was to avoid the Tigers, and it worked out quite well.
Less than half of all Tigers lost were due to enemy fire (45% among the Tiger Battalions)
During Ardennes Offensive, 13 King Tigers were lost to enemy fire and 12 because of other reasons.

usually a well tanked KT cannot be taken out by anything except fireflies.

and front shot is totally possible due to that there is a possibility of a top shot. Also, side-shots are not difficult if you expose a tiny bit of your side to that firefly. The firefly is such a nasty opponent I must say... (but, think of it, a pzIV worked as good as a KT against fireflies... while those poor 75mm shermans can't do any harm to your KT)

Their where tons of ways of killing a KT

Penetrating their armor wassent one of them.

I got to say now I really love the Cromwell, 2 shots, 2 tigers down, in less than 20 second, did it several times. My Cromwell one shot some KTs as well, they may lost half bar(some 3%~4%) of health while crossing fence or whatsoever, one shot on the top blew them up.....Now I almost refuse to get into firefly/TD when I play allied.

I'm rather busy at the moment, hopefully these videos would be released in 1 or 2 months.

Willy's Jeep + Driver & 2 PIAT gunners = LOL
Sitting driving around in circles around the poor KT while he tries all manner of evasive maneuvers as his cat gets turned into a german scrap heap.

The problem is even it face to you like that, the "side turret" and "top turret" could be easily hit thus you gain a side shot or top shot.

No you can't.

17pounder will bounce of the front armour, however, you can kill it with 2 shots from sherman/cromwell if you hit the roof. And with the big ass sloped roof, it's easy to hit.
