That's sad, I won't forget. Think of it like this, like many survivors of the first and second WW, he got married and raised a family which could very well never have been there, like many that didn't come home.

I recently read a book about 1 boy who survived Auschwitz, his entire family did not, but now... his family counts over 60 people. I find those facts often very comforting, even somewhat triumphant :)

Damn. I remember talking to WWI vets when I was younger.
Then I think about the fact my father was able to talk to Civil War vets.
Then I think his grandfather maybe, possibly talked to Revolutionary War vets...


Then my mind explodes.

And then think about this... Out of those millions... He lasted the longest. That is the biggest king of the hill game ever played and this guy is the winner!
