I might have gotten the title wrong but hey, lets not have that ruin our lifes (except those who loved U&R so much).

This thread is an experiment. It may become locked or deleted without notice!

You can discuss all sorts of things more freely here without going into off-topic in every other threads. If this thread maintains a "level" of quality when it comes to this jibba jabba of chitty chatty, then the thread remains open. We still dont look kindly at posts which has "+1", "this" and so on.

- One word posts arent allowed.
- Multi-posting many posts in a row by single user is not allowed.
- Try to keep discussions we already have threads for in their own threads and not spread them here.
- Hate speeches, flaming others and other stuff that arent allowed in the rest of the forums arent allowed here either.

If this thread wont turn into nothing but spam, then it remains open. So please restrict yourselfs from posting total crap and have more of a focus put into the content of your posts, whatever the subject may be.

To start off, I'll use my space here to reply to theta's request on getting me to steam yesterday evening: Sorry, I noticed that message too late and I was just about to hit the bed. I'll try to be on steam this evening at around 1800 UTC and so on.

Aight, I'll gotta run to work. Dont start any fires.

General Discussion / What would YOU like to play in FHGN 21?
« on: 07-02-2012, 21:02:30 »
Hi all!

February is here... erm, well, it has been for few days now. But anyways, february means the return of FH Game Nights and we are going to be playing our 21st Game Night later this month. Propably 25th at usual starting time of 1900 UTC but details of the event will be posted in 18th of February so stay tuned for them.

We are going old fashioned voting style here due to couple of reasons. First reason being that ever since 2.4, I am unsure if we have removed some of the size versions of specific maps, if some of the versions are bugged and if some maps even got other size versions rather than just the 64 player version. I need to verify this at some point when I got the time for it. Second reason being that I want your input when you vote.

So FHGN veterans knows how this thing works, you can name three maps which you'd like to play in FHGN 21 (vote even if you are not going to attend the event, because you get being-awesome points from it) in the fashion of "Sidi Rezegh 16" and so on.

The maps thats been mentioned most will get into the rotation, if theres not enough maps to fill the usual rotation (which is 7 maps) then I will handpick maps or ask fellow betatesters to fill the gaps. With this style of voting you can observe what others are voting and if you see even go as far as counting the votes yourself, you can try to manipulate them by either voting for the maps thats been already voted or pick something else. Remember that its pointless to vote for a map that has like 5 above votes because usually that means its already been picked so its useful for me and useful for you if you vote for something else rather than those maps thats been already voted a metric frakton (I had to steal that from you Kelmola).

What I need your input with? Well I'd like to know if you got anything to say about FHGN's in general. Suggestions, feedback, etc.

Start voting! Results and the whole announcement of FHGN21 will be posted in a separate thread in 18th of February.

Off-Topic / SOPA - Stop Online Piracy Act
« on: 17-12-2011, 22:12:27 »
I am more than surprised we do not have a thread on this subject. A subject that would have an impact on to everyone using the internet.

Stop Online Piracy Act, SOPA for short, is a bill that the US goverment is debating wether it should pass or not. The bill has already been approved and the decision wether it will be passed or not will be done in 21st of this said month.

What is the bill about?

The bill is supposedly giving full power over copyrighted material to big corporations who think they own the internet and everything put there. This bill basically and straightforwardly said allows multimillion corporations, such as music and film businesses to full out censor and shut down websites if they bloody please. Since a lot of people even these forums follow many sites which reside in the USA domains, there is a big threat that such sites can be shut down by the companies who think the content within the specific sites break their copyrights.

This can and will have a huge impact to everyone around the globe. Not just people in the US but everyone. Sites such as youtube, facebook and other large social media sites are in danger of being brought down.

Without going too deep into details, I'll post some very informative links here which I advise you to read and/or watch.

First link is naturally wikipedia which explains everything in great detail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act

Second link is from TotalHalibut on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhwuXNv8fJM

Quite obviously a lot of people are upset about this bill. Not only does it threaten the freedom of speech but it also harms every normal internet user. Pirates dont actually give a flying damn about this because they will find a way to go around this anyway.

I dont want to sound dramatic but this bill has been a horrible idea when it was conceived.

There's gotta be people on these forums who have been following these events other than just me. If this is totally new to you, consider it a wake-up call.

Hello and welcome to our very special FH Game Night! As year 2011 is nearing it's end, we are going to celebrate it with our last Game Night and we will do it with the second season of well-liked Grizzly Hunt!

-------

Rules and general information for Grizzly Hunt in text form:

- Grizzly Hunt is a special event aimed for You, the forum regulars, but anyone who knows about this event can take part of it, but to receive the signature award and recognition for proud kills you have to be a registered member in these forums.

- The very first proud kill will receive a special second Grizzly Hunt season award while the rest of the succesful proud kills will receive the regular signature. Please note that any and every proud kill are only taken into count if the player has an account in these forums. So for example if randomplayer1 does a succesful kill before forummember1 but doesnt have a forum account here to confirm the kill, the latter will receive the first place reward!

- Only melee weapon kills are counted as proud kills. Killing the Warbear with any other weapon does not count.

- TeamKilling the Warbear does not count as a proud kill either. You have to be in an opposing team in order to acquire a proud kill!

- You CAN post a screenshot of the kill. All deaths caused by melee weapons are recorded by Warbear so there are no real reason to post screenshots other than for fun. This is completely optional!

I wish you happy hunting if you are thirsty for blood and honor, but I also want to wish you succesful wildlife protection duties if you decide to choose that path instead! ;)

---------

Special thanks goes for Forgotten Honor for providing us a server for this and past Game Nights.

Special thanks also go for developer and good friend of us all, FatJoe, for creating such a great poster and signatures for this lil' event!

See you all there!

-------------------------------------------------------

The results are here!

Achieved by killing the first warbear of the second season of Grizzly Hunt during FH Game Night 20.

Achieved by killing a warbear during the event.

Achieved by killing multiple warbears during the event.

Achieved by either protecting the warbear for several rounds in a row in the same squad or by killing those who threatened the existance of warbears by roundhouse kicking any attackers in the face.

Congratulations to all winners!

General Discussion / Plan a Game Night

Ladies, mentlemen and Theta!

As you are all propably aware already that there hasnt been a "What would YOU like to play" nor a "FH Game Night 20" threads for October. You are propably wondering why is that and I am here to explain the situation for you all.

Like last year we had our last Game Night in November and I aim to have our last GN of 2011 in November as well, too not worry about GN's being cancelled entirely since they arent as long as people like them, I keep arranging them. Last year we ended the season with GN11, while I would of liked it being GN10 instead. However, this year we will be ending the season with GN20. Last year we had a special event for our last GN and to my surprise it was VERY popular considering the size of our community. In fact, Grizzly Hunt even received a notice at moddb which was even more mind blowing to me.

Since GN20 is going to be the last GN during 2011, I would like it to be something special as well. I wouldnt mind throwing in second Grizzly Hunt if people would want it but I am totally open for brand new ideas too. That is why I am here.

So you have a chance to openly discuss and suggest events that we could have for GN20 in late November. Would you be satisfied with another chance to stab me in the gut and claim a signature price for these forums (different to season 1) or would you rather see something different this time around? If you have any ideas, please speak your mind, I would like to hear them.

You can also discuss other Game Night related matters as well if you have any feedback regarding them in general.

Hi and welcome to another FH Game Night!

General Discussion / What on earth would it be...
« on: 06-09-2011, 22:09:52 »
...that YOU would like to play in FH Game Night 19 this month? :)

Like in august, we are going with something different this time around when it comes to the usual map voting in these threads. Since we are going to have a twist in this voting, I highly suggest you all to read the following carefully so you dont fuck up!

VOTING RULES:
- 3 Maps per bum.

- Name your options in the same old fashion: Map Name Map Size (Sidi Rezegh 16, Bastogne 64...)

- Give me a reason why the maps YOU voted should be played. The most creative, funny, motivating and overally good reasons may very well affect the end results!

Get to it mentlegen! I will perform a magic trick and make the thread disappear in friday 16th.
