General Discussion / Re: Please Eliminate the Rifle Sway
« on: 12-04-2009, 06:04:52 »
You know what might be interesting? If, specifically for maps like Berlin where many of the German soldiers were fresh recruits, the rifle sway was increased to simulate their fear and inexperience in combat. There's probably some Eastern Front maps where this might apply to fresh Russian recruits as well.

Off-Topic / Re: Which kind of music are you listening to?
« on: 12-04-2009, 02:04:36 »
Im mostly into rock and some trance/techno. Some examples rock bands I usually keep on my mp3 player:

Arctic Monkeys
Bloc Party
Muse
The Strokes
The Killers
The Rest
Modest Mouse
The Postal Service
Radiohead
The Dandy Warhols
Brad Sucks
Mutemath
Elefant
Stellastarr
Jars of Clay
Franz Ferdinand
Kings of Leon
and many, many more!...

I get most of my electronic music online from places like Jamendo. They have some good artists there and everything is released under a Creative Commons license.

I might also add that I never use that many smilies in a row.

Yes, I am the lurker-poster from the other forums, I have no idea who this dude is. I actually thought it was someone making a point about my other posts in this thread, but this Flyboy has too many posts for that. And no offense taken Meadow, It was outta hand.

Ah, Im sorry guys, I was just writing the worst map I could think of. Didn't intend it to insult anyone...

So I did a research project a little ways back about the secret codes in WWII, and that gives me the idea for a truly exciting map:

Bletchley Park

German team gets to sit around, running routine operations in a few bases isolated by out-of-bounds areas on one side of the English channel, and telling eachother about it.

The Brits get walk around Bletchley Park, on the other side of the English channel, and decrypt their messages, by doing such exciting things as gathering signals, operating the Turing Bombe, and writing things on pieces of paper.

Ah but Emperor, that's Auschwitz-1945. That's when the Allies liberate it.

In my idea, Auschwitz-1944, the allies are played as Jews who are trapped in the camp. ;)

No. It's so Hitler can remotely control his all-powerful ATDonkey into battle, personally.

Oh I know! Auschwitz 1944!

Allies:

General Infantry (gets clothes...)
Shoes (limited kit)
Extra Shirt (also limited)
Hope Kit (same as general infantry, but smiling) *1 of these always spawns, even if then next player in spawn queue chooses something else*

Spawn in trains near closed gate, or inside of housing, objective is to survive.

Germans:

Guard (gets a rifle or smg)
Kilnhands (can send people to kiln by touching them)
Kilnmaster (gets to control crematorium, limited kit)
Attack Dog (can bite, or use "FEAR" attack, which fires a harmless blast that pushes enemies in front of it)

Germans spawn in guard towers, barracks, or amongst the housing units, their primary is to gather entire enemy team in kiln and cremate them (5 points to each team member). Secondary objective is to kill the allies "Hope" (10 points). Tertiary objective is to make allies run laps around the courtyard (1 point per team member, per lap).

May everyone involved be blessed, including the family and friends of those harmed. Very sorry to hear such a thing.

Hehehe I ended up having to watch that with a few girls at a friends house, jums...I agree wholeheartedly. The characters are written to either make every girl who reads/watches sympathize with them (Bella), or, in the case of Edward, the character is a perfect, designer boy who fits every girls list of wants.

Also, an interesting thought is that the movie would have been the same if the family was say, lumberjacks or something. Vampirism has very little to do with the story, and that's butchered with the whole "oooh look at me I can go out in the sunlight" thing.

Oh, and if you believe that "in every awkward silence, a gay baby is born" then Twilight's acting could populate an entire San Francisco neighborhood. ;)

Tactics & Tutorials / Re: Drive by tank killing

Gazala is definitely the best map for this tactic. My friend and I used to do this with the willys all the time. :) You gotta be careful not to accidentally tap the right mouse button, or the nade could stick to your hood! O.o

Suggestions / Re: Dug in tanks
« on: 06-04-2009, 01:04:53 »
Ok, its been bugging me for awhile now, Torenico. Where is your sig from? :p

OT, I think that dug-in tanks would be a neat addition, especially in the pacific. As it is now, there are some semi dug-in valentines on that one level (durrr...), but they can be driven out of their positions if need be.

"Viewer discretion advised" means nothing. Its just legal ass-covering by the cable companies. If a show has something that might possibly make someone go "eww," then they have to put that there so they dont get sued for some BS charge like "harming our childrens' psyche."

Ive seen in before medical shows like House, dramas like The Shield, and discovery channel shows that have animals eating eachother.

Last Night I saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was pretty good, for someone who never read the comics. There are some interesting twists to the story, and that good comraderie which most movies these days seem to skimp out on.

I just saw Star Wreck. It was actually pretty baddass for what it was. I liked it. :)

And yes, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly kicks lesser movies' asses. Everything about that movie is just plain awesome, and it all works together so well.

You know what would really kill? A joint operation april fool's joke with the PR-folks. Something like "we decided to do PR: WW2, together with the FH2 team" or something.

You must not have heard of the attempted joint venture between Forgotten hope and Galactic Conquest. They had a full render of an AT-KT and everything. :)

Id post the pic if I could; I'm sure someone has it though.

I actually have a request for you guys. A few times on the forums one or more of you have brought up a book about Berlin thats supposed to be amazing, but I cant remember what the title is. I keep going to look for it when I'm in the bookstore, but cant remember what it was called...
