[Model] Sauer und Suhl 1913 Pistol

Greetings.
I never modelled for a FPS before...just for third person games,like Faces of War and RTS games...
So,I saw an interesting pistol on the Walkarounds threads...and I decided to make it for the BF2 engine.

VonMudra gladly gave me more pictures and so I began to work on it.
I have done all the body so far,still got to do the slide,but,as I am not an expert,I would like some "technical" feedback and suggestions.

I'm by no means an expert or something, but that seems a bit to detailed for BF2.

Not really to detailed, its just it has to many polies... which are unneeded and not contributing to the model at all. But its better to finish the model in this case before optimizing it...

it looks very nice !
Now it needs a good optimization because of a lot of wasted polies as SirApple said !

- you need to decrease the number of polies on the grip (the loop has too many edges, some corner has too many edges also). Grip is the less important part.
Then you will have free polies to up-polies the bolt. Since it is rounded, it's better to put more edges there.

- attached  the grip plate with the grip (it should be 1 model only. currently they are detached). bf2 doesn't like detached part :(

I don't see the other side of the pistol and the mag. It would be great if you could render them.
Otherwise excellent model, it just need some optimization  ;) (and don't forget to post the polygon count !)

I tried to remove some polygons and now it has 1906 polygons in total,from about 2350 it has before.

I started with the UV mapping but the texturing is going to be a hard thing for me...
If someone is interested on helping out with the texturing,send me a PM.

Actually, its considered one of the most well made .32 cal pistols of the 20th century :D
