Tanks of old were operated by levers. You even had to monitor the engine temperature and set the radiotor manually, with a lever. Both tracks moved by separate levers. It's not simple at all.

Tigers actually did have a steering wheel instead of levers.

Hi all, i am new here. This is very interesting topic, but i think, that if you only use enemy kit, you cannot drive enemy tank, because you are still on one side, and tank is enemy (still it is BF2 engine).

Thoronder, this is very interesting image, where you have it from?

That my friend is the Tigerfibel. they were apparently intended to summarise what the crew needed to know for day-to-day use of the tank, and capture their interest. It is well-illustrated and much of it is written as poetry in a humorous manner. It is remarkably different from the usual style of a German tank manual of the period, describing its machinery and operations in tedious detail

I believe their is also a pantherfibel

I believe their is also a pantherfibel

And, far more important, a Radfahrfibel.
Picture (fibel-)related.

How many different times and ways must the devs say no to this. No! It is unrealistic and it upsets balance. Those are two cardinal rules of FH, I am surprised any veteran of these forums would challenge this.

The upset in balance has already been explained:
...this can throw of the balance of a map and destroy the whole map. for example germans capturing the matilda on early africa maps tommys have nothing to destroy it but AT mines anything els would fail. that tanker in their would have a great field day but the map is then broken...

And don't even try to say, "if the Matilda is so important the Brits should guard it better..." Preventing the opposing team from stealing key equipment is NOT what the game is about. I know some of you would love this feature as it would give you the opportunity to steal it and be the big hero of the map. But creating opportunities for Rambo's to totally disrupt one team is NOT what FH is all about.

As I already pointed out this also unrealistic. Even if you DID come across an abandoned enemy tank in the middle of a battle, AND you knew how to operate it, no soldier in his right mind would get in it and drive it. The reason is obvious, if you did you would be shot at by your own troops. What you WOULD do, if you found such a tank, is drop a nade or explosives in it to disable it.

Their is a reason why this has been rejected.

FH2 aims towards HISTORICAL realism, not ACTUAL realism. FH2 aims towards having a gameplay wich is a close match as possible to World war 2 warfare. FH2 dev team makes sure every map is as historical accurate as possible. This includes map and vehicle layout (For example, not giving the British a 17PDR on the map Bardia, as it wassent their)
On a scale to 5 with realism, FH2 would stand at 3.7 while PR for example at 4.3 (A wild guess, but it makes sense)

This counts for tanks, infantery with the proper equipment and objectives.

FH2 aims towards this, NOT actual realism. If actual realism was in, tanks dint got destroyed with a single hit when it dint hit any fuel/ammo. Or required a full team  of 5 Men to operate.
OR Tank crews would needed HOURS and hours to understand a enemy tank.

Just because a allied tank crew could drive a simple, Mechanicle reliable sherman, doesnt mean that they could drive a high tech tiger tank with twice the weight imediatly

Then they can take the Churchill   :o thats bad, then they can take the spitfires!!!!!  :o , Then the Universal Carriers   :'( , That would be horrible! The Universal carriers are there to move us from the spot it is to the spitfire on Operation Totalize, It has no battle use, I have seen a person drive 5 feet to a tank and get out, and get in the tank. That would be horrible.

I didn't know that yet. Where can I find it?

BTW I am against stealing tanks. It was a big annoyance in Vanilla.

That was fun in vanilla to steal enemy vehicle but in FH it would be utterly annoying. People have problem to recognize friendly vehicles and uniforms now. Imagine what chaos would it make after this idea is implemented. I say: nay!

NO NO NO NO NO!!!

NO!!!

Never do this! I doubt really strong that this happened in WWII, and if it did, I can guarantee that it did not happen many times!( A captured tank with other marks on it is something different, don't mention it)

If allies during WWII took an enemy tank,(or opposite) they would most probably get shot by their own guys!

Simply no!
