markers pass 200 m
« on: 26-09-2009, 09:09:33 »
Hello guys, just couple of suggestions to improve gameplay.

1. a marker is invisible to any squadmate that is 200 - 150m away from the marker. thus he always must use minimap or map. I know it is not a major thing to do and would help quite a lot especially assigning targets for long range tanks shots, mg suppression fire / plane strafes.

2. visibility. there is often a fog of war in fh2.2. especially seen in Lutich. Is there any chance to improve view range? it is possible as it was in PR. that way we would give tanks, planes, snipers and AA more usefulness.

3. FW190 and other planes with bubble canopy should enjoy almost 360 degrees of view around.

4. an annoying explosion of the wrecked vehicle often kills any infantry around it. can the splash damage be minimised? kind of stupid to seek for cover behind blow up tanks and then being blown up by the wreck.

1. Why not

2. Having PR view distances means having shitty PR map details. And I'm sure the fog on Lüttich is intended as an atmospheric tool

3. I don't fly so no comment.

4. On the other hand I wouldn't seek cover behind a tank that is burning and perhaps has ammo stored irl

1. err dunno never noticed.

2. viewdistance on lüttich is inteded. the map is set in the early morning. the FOG is actual morning fog and not put there for performance reasons.

3. can you turn your head 360° , i cant.  problem is the cockpit is only modelt in front so if you would turn more than the 180° you would see black, or whatever the default colout is.

4. yes that is really annoying, i ll bring that up .

The 190 cockpit is a WIP right now, but what Die Happy said is correct.

But you can't deny that it is really ugly. Beyond any believe. Especially as it is a developers no. 1 tool to compensate bad performance and is thus used permanently on all sorts of games. To be honest: I feel a bit like playing vanilla BF1942. So, plz, no more morning mist. :-\

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

I actually love the fog, it looks cool and creates lots of atmosphere. Its also important gameplay wise that is why i plays so well.

Beautiful map in my opinion.

OH MY GOD!? I can't deny your opinion?

I guess I can't.
But I'm pretty sure the mist stays.
