I find them EXTREMELY good. Not realistic as some may say BUT WOW, they're NICE! I'm going to buy Mw3 for the sounds.

Suggestions / Supressive fire redone

Ok after discussing a lot on the FH2 Teamwork theory thread I've come that this might suit everybody.

So basically what I'm looking for : Supression for all guns, the same kind of supressions that MGs had in 2.3 (my shaders are broken in 2.4), no camerashake. Maybe less powerfull for pistols and small calibers. What it will do :

1.Being able to keep your enemies heads down while your friends charge them.
2.Avoid enemies to shoot back accurately at you. (You had the advantage, you fired first)
3.Make people realise that sticking with your squad and in groups will avoid you to die more often.
4.Being able to offer covering fire.
5.Automatic weapons such as SMGs will have a new advantage over semi-auto rifles. Rifles have the accuracy, SMGs are able to supress for a longer time and faster.
6.Make you realise that you are being shot at. (The louder whizzle and cracks might do this properly)

The blur effect is to simulate the fact that you're closing your eyes when bullets land near you (like when somebody claps his hands in your face) and to simulate the fact that dust, rocks, branches and others are being kicked towards your face by the bullets, etc.

DON'T reduce the sound of others things going around because of the blur effect, that's dumb. I think that PR has this.

As Natty pointed out, a louder effect for the cracks and wizzles of bullets passing nearby would be a really nice addition to this.

Discuss. If you disagree/agree explain why.

I replied this on the FH2 thread in the PR forums. People were talking about the lack of people using VOIP in FH2 and that's what make them leave or don't grab as much as other people on the mod. What do you think of this? :

In FH2 all players tend to know what the other guy wants. Exemple : I have a bazooka and another dude too, I just say "Follow me!" he follows me and face the back of a Panther, I say "Fire!", we both destroy the Panther. The maps are smaller, all the gameplay is smaller, people are clustered together and IMO the teamwork is just perfect for the mod.

The fact of spotting a tank with the command makes it appears on the minimap for everyone, same as saying "Tank in H6kp4" and then lasing it, it's red on the minimap, so the Sherman next to you will know where to be heading or looking.

Another exemple, defending a flag on Bastogne : I found a good place where you need to go up a ladder to get to a destroyed house roof, giving a good firing position. I spotted a guy with a MG and said "Follow me" then I got up the ladder and said "Hold this position", he then said "Copy that" and started firing on the germans coming accross the fields.

I like the fact that I can make a easy teamplay with that random blue guy by using some commo rose action and the spotting ability, that's what is FH2 Teamwork. Seeing people leaving the mod because of "not enough VOIP" is sad. Just learn to use the other ways to get teamwork to work.

General Discussion / No supression effect, bug?

Since 2.4 I noticed that I don't have any supression effect anymore while being shot at, I simply hear the bullets on the surfaces or the sound going down a bit and the background sound playing, heartbeat, etc.

So I wanted to know if it was a bug and if other players were experiencing this too. Now I take MG fire but I can't even know that I'm being shot at unless I die or hear the bullets sound. The changelog never stated about supression being removed.

It feels like I'm playing BF2 vanilla, scrap the immersion.

I got a problem with Punkbuster while joining a server :

I can play for like 10 seconds before being kicked by PB. I can play without problems on hslan, all other servers kick me.

I tried everything suggested on google links and yes I updated my PB, etc.

This is a problem related to PnkBstrK.sys file. My PB got a problem when I try to install it, it's not able to create this file, going to post the log soon.

Ok, for all that doesn't know when Fh2 will release from where they are I got this website for you!

If you don't know your time zone, there's a "click here" link to know it, then you have a list of all country, you take one and select your city. It will give you something like GMT + x or GMT - x

Once you know it you go back on this page :

For "When it is" you enter 18:00 GMT

For "In" you enter Greenwichmeantime (the first one)

For "What time will it be in" you enter your GMT + x or GMT - x that was given to you on the country's page.

The 29th clan server is now pushing it's players limit even further on the mod for Red Orchestra named "Darkest Hour". After hitting 64 players yesterday they now try with 70 players and then 76. I think they will push it even further! Give it a try guys!  :D

If anyone is planning to do an air raid map, maybe like BoB having this kind of thing at the beggining of the round in the main base for maybe 1 - 2 mins could be really nice :

Maybe in any other map, in an airfield or city, just to show that in your map, the guys weren't ready. Then after 1 - 2 mins the siren stop.

Suggestions / Russian Flag kit

Now that we know that Eastern Front will be up I think that the post by VonMudra in 2009 in the "easter egg" thread could be actually cool.

So it would be a kit with a pistol, knife. You would have a soviet union flag in one hand while you would have your pistol or knife in the other hand. And you would have more sprint.

That would be epic in infantry charge. And I think that alot of players would like to carry this kit around feeling "epic" :P .

It would be a pickup kit not spawnable.

Bug Reporting / Respawn time reset

Ok I'm really pissed off by this bug and now I'm reporting it.

It's about the limited kits..when you select an limited kit and that it say you that it's used, your spawn time reset to like 12 seconds. Really pissing off when you need to spawn to defend your SL.

For exemple. You play on anctoville with a rifleman kit as Brit. You die, you are going to spawn at your SL to protect him when you say yourself "why not taking a sten? good in CQC". So you select sten kit, but it say that you can't have it. So you select your rifleman kit back and push enter. BUT THEN, you don't spawn. Because your counter is back at 12 sec, so your SL get killed.

The stuart is a really awesome tank and is a powerful infantry support light vehicle, that would be fun to have more stuarts in normandy maps. Brest, Luttich, only maps with Stuart (Honey doesn't count :P )

And the stuart "recces" is awesome! That would be fun to have it in port-en-bessin, Lebisey, etc. Cause its armored, the pilot can't be killed, one of the gunner can't be killed and well...it got an awesome .50, would be cool to have it over some universal carriers and bren carriers.

What do you think?

Hey I got a bug when some high effect happen, it happen in PR too.

Not everytime but sometimes if for exemple a mortar shell exploded near me my screen will have black flashed that allow me to see trough buildings. Same thing in PR. I just wondered if anybody ever had this bug.

Solution : Hit Alt-Tab and come back in game. It just piss me off when in a fight and I got to go find a cover to do this.
