Aircraft bombs with fuse delay
« on: 03-06-2011, 10:06:51 »
Cant we get a 1 or 2 second delay so you wont get hit by the bomb blast?
This way you dont have to divebomb the target, you can drop bombs with a less extreme angle, and you can get closer to your target and the ground wich makes it easier to aim.

Sure that makes it easier to aim, but dropping a 500kg bomb from 30m height is not healthy for a plane travelling at sub-sonic speeds. ^^
Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off

just drop it a little higher, there is no problem.
Stuka is made to dive bomb, if you cant do that, go singleplayer and learn it. The other planes with bombs should dive too.

The problem is that you cant see the target because of the fog.
Divebombing trough fog is extremely difficult.

I wonder if its possible to raise the aircraft ceiling and get rid of the fog?

what you have pretty enough time to dive after you left the fog.

Not at maps like operation cobra, once you leave the fog you have about 3 seconds to aim and drop bombs and then your a sitting duck for flak and uberpilots.
Thats why i suggest the bombfuze delay so you have more time to aim and drop bombs, since you dont get hit by the bomb blast. This makes it possible to fly level and drop bombs at low altitude, wich is more accurate for fighterbombers.

they are way to accurate anyway. A bomber in a good players hand is massive overkill.

There are mobile AA guns on maps with aircraft too.
Only thing that needs to be added is a ostwind 37mm flak.
Besides the mg42 on a tank turret mount should be able to do some damage to low flying aircraft aswell, but currently it does not.

There were only 43 Ostwinds. Much too less to be made. And there is not even the 3.7 flak, which should be in the game though, so I doubt we will see Ostwind in near future

This^

A stuka wich divebombs pretty much guarantees a hit

This hurts any aircraft at medium and low altitude.
Its the a sdkfz 7/2 with a 37mm cannon.
