My initial guess is that its a python issue that will clear itself if you restart the server.  If not, I can't help you.

Restarting the server we were doing! Does not help ...

check if the kit limit is working

simply join the server and try to spawn with squadleader kit while not being squadleader.
if you can spawn and play the python code is broken. since a restart of the server didnt help i guess reinstalling might be in order.

I think you're asking why there are no Linux Server Files available for FH2.3?!
Hmmm perhaps someone else can help you there. I don't know if someone else uses a Linux Server vor BF2.
Perhaps an Admin from HSLAN or 762 can help you here.

Ah now that I read the changelog, I think that you don't need to contact anyone. Just try reinstalling the serverfiles. The ones you can download should be for both windows and linux.

Forgotten Hope 2.3 Server files readme

Version
This is version 2.3 (internal version 1.8.885). It contains an additional server-side
code to remove tractors from maps. These will make a return in a later version.

Compatibility
This release has een tested with Battlefield 2 1.41 and 1.5.

Recommended server settings
For optimum balance and gameplay we recommend the following settings:

sv.hitIndicator 1
hit indicator on.

sv.ticketRatio 200
default ticket ratio 200%.

sv.voipEnabled 1
ingame voice chat enabled for better player communications.

sv.soldierFriendlyFire 100
sv.vehicleFriendlyFire 100

all friendly fire at 100%.

Don't worry about that, could be they forget to change 2.25 to 2.3.
You can use the server file download for Windows and Lunix.
