Where to did you install bf2 fh2? c:\programs?
Edit:
You know what, let us do the ropes,
What's your OS, what components are in your PC and what version of BF2 do you own. :)

Wonderful, now we are getting somewhere.
First thing to do is to switch off the windows user access control (UAC), since Win7 prevents BF2 from swapping files while it is installed in the Program Files folder and UAC is turned on. This might be your problem right there. If it doesn't help be sure to follow the steps under installing FH2 in Vista/Win7, which can be found here under the second point:

And here if the game should continue to crash:

I may have solved the problem. I restarted my pc and It loads now. I will report back later if the issue returns. Thank you and everyone else for y'all's help. I greatly appreciate it.

The game doesn't actually crash. It just doesn't load. The problem is back. It isn't loading again. I really don't feel comfortable switching off UAC. I did have that problem previously, but the text doesn't pop up anymore. I don't know if that means it isn't a problem anymore or not.

i turned off UAC. But that hasn't fixed it. I can join matches now, but only once each time I start up. the only way to fix it I know of is to restart my pc.

Good Morning,

oh, that sounds like a deeper going hardware problem. How much RAM are you sporting? And you can get around turning down the UAC by installing BF2 to any other folder than the Programs folders iirc.

Next thing you can do is to start the game in windowed mode which will let you see if and when an error pops up. (unluckily BF2 closes all error windows when it shuts down by itself. Nice way to hide them Dice...)

To open the windowed mode just add "+fullscreen 0" without the quotes in the shortcut to FH2.
The link should then look something like this:
Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\fh2.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 1024 +szy 768

reinstall everything, clear the regedit datas, download new BF2 patches from another source. After every install try if the game works. You did download FH2.3 part 1&2?

We've already been that far, I think it is a totally different problem. Seeing that he managed to load a map once and play exactly one round.

Okay. I believe I have finally fixed the problem by doing a full manual uninstall. I have one weird issue. I joined a game and became commander, but ALL of the commander options, communication, as well as artillery and supplies are MISSING. I literally can do nothing as commander. All I can see is the map, and I cannot click on anything on the map either. Right clicking does not give me options either.

EDIT: It's not loading AGAIN..

That is normal, the mod has redefined the commander abilities and you have to sit at a radio station in order to use these.
I guess you could need these 3 tutorial videos:

So what happens when you play in windowed mode and what is your system config?

Nothing happens regardless of what mode I play in. I am using an asus laptop with 8 processors, 6 GB of ram, and a 5870 ati card.

And you did everything described in the section on installing FH2 under win7?
What does your resource monitor (just type it in under start) say when the second map is loading?
As far as I can remember we haven't had anyone with this problem before, so fixing the root of this problem is in our interest as well. Are you running FH2 in any compatibility mode?
