Berlin Map Test Event - Sunday 18h UTC
« on: 01-12-2018, 18:12:19 »

Join us this Sunday 2nd December at 18:00 UTC and fight in the streets of Berlin for the very first time! Help us test this map to get the right balance and gameplay sorted out. Once this has been tested then it will be time to finish the map with final textures and lightmaps.

It is a sector push map. The Germans start with no tanks. As sectors become captured by the Russians, additional tanks will spawn on both sides. Russian tank spawn locations are moved forward each time a new sector is captured to prevent long drivings from the main base to the frontlines. It is all setup for an action-packed experience but yet enough flanking possibilities and tactics to be applied

Battle for Berlin was the final major offensive of the European theatre of World War II  led by the soviets. Their Red army had temporarily been stopped 60km to the east of Berlin. On 9 March, Germans established its defence plan for the city, called Operation Clausewitz. On 16 April, two soviet armies attacked Berlin from the east to the south, as a third one attacked north of Berlin. Berlin was then encircled by 2,500,000 soldiers better prepared and equipped this time, against some disorganized divisions of  Wehrmacht and SS, together with Volkssturm and Hitler Youth, who were not really trained. The rest is history, but still skirmishes were going to be house-to-house fighting

Mine also crashes at 62% even if i have the minimod installed.
However, moving the contents in the levels of the minimod zip to the root fh2 folder solved this issue

It worked fine for me, just install everything the way it says in the first post.

I’d like to say that during play testing it wouldn’t be a good idea to waste too much time posting about out of place textures, or aesthetic things, like floaters etc... that can be reviewed in a local game by yourself. Instead the play test should be about gameplay;

Does it feel balanced for both teams?
Are there areas that you could accidentally glitch into?
Does gameplay around a certain flag feel too bottlenecked or too open etc...
Does it cause FPS drops or the flag bug? (It caused flag bug for me on local)
Are there too many vehicles, too little vehicles, are they too powerful etc...
Should certain kits be limited etc...

That’s more what a full gameplay test is for imo. Aesthetic things can be commented on locally.

Good point there Mat. Well, the memory usage needs to be improved, that´s for sure. I´ve noticed people trying to join and failing, they are probably not installing the CMP mod correctly.

Couldn't join the server either, CTD after the map finishes loading. Works just fine through local server though.

FiveStars - Just curious, how's your computer?

Hmmm, so maybe something wrong with the server files or python? (If you can join it locally but not on a server).

Will this be up on the server all night? I’ll try and join it when I get home later and run in windowed mode to see.
