M26 Pershing

Since the Gerries have their Tigers and KTs, why don't the Amis get some heavy cavalry?

I think many a person wants something bigger from the Ami side. Plus I think it's smexier then you standard german tank even tough it does look a bit german-made, don't u think? Maybe some inspiration taken?

Firstly: http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=18.0

Secondly: Tiger I's and Tiger II's are in because they were used in the battles which those maps they are in represent. The M26 on was rare and saw only very little action. You might see it eventually when there is map about a battle it was used in.

M26 pershings appeared on the battlefield after january 1945.

Actually, the americans could have had 500 M26 pershings ready for D-day. But they wherent deployed because they think they would get supply problems with them.

Expect to see the Pershing in Late war maps after 1945

Pershings where used in cologne, Rhine river and remagen. And also other places.

Pershing saw very limited combat very late in the war. I am sure if a liberation of Cologne map is made it will be in it. But those engagements happened well into 1945, a theatre this mod hasn't touched yet so we might still see it some day.

1st-ly I saw nothing about, no posts so i decided "hey why the heck not?".

2nd-ly Wasn't it a response 2 the tiger's appearance and esp. the KT?
Correct me if I'm wrong (probably in most cases ;D ) but weren't Pershings deployed at Cean? Alongside m10s,sherms and churchills?

No, they where not. It took an extra 6 months to deploy them in Europe.

No.
The first combat experience of the pershing was on february the 25th 1945.

Quote
After training the tank crews, the T26E3 tanks were first committed to combat on February 25, 1945 with the Third Armored Division, in the fighting for the Roer River. On February 26, 1945, a T26E3 was knocked out in an ambush at Elsdorf while overwatching a roadblock. The action was described as follows:

After that, the pershing proved it could easily rip apart Tigers, PZ IV and other german tanks. Its armor wassent super, but its 90MM gun shredded trough armor and infantery alike.

Edit=Why have pershings when you have churchills?

I know, I love Churchs but the Pers is smaller and faster (just a tad but none-the-less)

I know, that's why we have historian, right?  :)

faster maybe (around double speed ) but the churchill was an infantry tank and not supposed to be fast anyways.

but the pershing was bigger than a churchill  ;)
             length   width    hight
churchill 7,45 m   2,00 m  2,02 m
pershing 8,79 m   3,51 m  2,78 m

1 was knocked out by a Tiger on the 2nd day of use, another was later destroyed by a Nashorn.
