The thing is, pretty much every dslr you can buy today offers more than enough quality. Its more about the menus, the handling and the accessories. Personally i advise people against digital pentax cameras even thou they are very good, sure, but as soon as it comes to choice of lenses, third party accessories and especially the used market, pentax is pretty much non-existant. For the big brands like Canon and Nikon you can get everything for pretty cheap since everything is easily available, but for pentax it gets stressy. I have one dude in my photography class who shot pentax, and he switched to canon like after half a year because he said it super hard to come by decent lenses or stuff like flashes and flash triggers. You need something special all the time and cant use the "standard" stuff that everyone else already uses.
If you just want to buy a camera, shoot around with it and not really bother with it, dont plan to maybe buy a used lens or two or get third party lenses, go for the pentax, its definitely a great camera. If you plan to extend your set later on or get more into it, i really recommend you to stick to the big brands.
