I have seen that slogan before. It was, for example, on one decal set for scale models. I used it on my E-100 Ausf. B ;D

Well he guy who made that model obviously couldn’t speak german
He copied that from the stug

Well, after having a second look I can read now

Jungs holt fast!

but that makes no sense

maybe the writing has just been “restored” by ambitious but not knowing russsians after this tug hast been captured by them
and so they made a mistake      ,    my speculation

Maybe "Jungs haltet fest"? That would actually make sense as it means "Boys, hold on tight".
I guess the slogan on the Kubinka tank was added later by someone who only has rudimentary skills in German because what is written on this one doesn´t make much sense...
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

And you couldn't read English? :P

This is what google finds about "Jungs holt fast":
http://tinyurl.com/36dkoou
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446087/
http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228493 "'Jungs holt fast' is obviously a naval related German saying--"
http://www.germanamericansociety.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=73&Itemid=86 "Officially founded on January 6, 1884 the Omaha Plattdeutscher Verein adopted the slogans “Jungs Holt Fast“ and “Einigkeit Makt Stark.”"

These people seem to think that "Jungs holt fast" means something.

Any Germans here? My school-learned German only says that "Guys, pick up the load" makes grammatical sense, but it may be a figure of speech that actually means "Keep it up!" or something like that. Plus if it's actually Plattdeutsch it might mean something else entirely.

dict.leo.org, my trusty companion, at least tells me that "Holt auf!" is "Heave ho!", so maybe this is a regional variation of it?

Haha, cool, I got a girlfriend who's nickname is Tiki! Probably doesn't mean sh*t to her that her name is on a Tiger tank, but hey....  ;-)

It indeed seems like it's Low German and/or some old dialect, so it is understandable it doesn't make sense in modern German.

Hey... i was bored and found this old thread, have you finished your model?

i found this

this is a model of a marder though, its nicknamed "Gerda"

and btw.: DONT name your tank "stahlvormund" like they did in company of heroes xD < --- that makes no sence at all! stahl means steel and vormund means ... (well i dont know, but if you adopt a child you are its vormund, or for example the parents of a child are also its vormund = means you care for someone xD) - they obviously thought that Vor (Pre) and Mund (mouth) would mean teeth or something like that. - in the german version of the game the thing is thus called "EISENFRESSER" - which means metal-chower or something like that (dont know wether nicknames like this really existed) - still in the game on the tiger skin you always see the stahlvormund which really makes you sick xD

and i found some lines (on trucks though)

Chamberlain, jetzt bist du dran!
Chamberlain now its your turn/ now we will finish you.

Wir fahren Regenschirme für Chamberlain
We are driving umberellas for chamberlain.
Gott strafe England.
God shall punish England. (lol)
Die ganze Polenbrut kam unter Großdeutschlands (Hut).
The whole breeding of poles came under Großdeutschlands hat. - there is a picture of a hat - german: hut - but i wouldnt write that sentence because its very disgusting to describe a whole country as breeding.

Wie sie es wünschen Mr. Chamberlain
as you wish mr chamberlain

note these are early war pics (mr chamberlain). - maybe you can change the name to churchill xD

hope this helped you

"Jungs, holt fast" is Plattdeutsch dialect, it comes from sailors language and simply means "Guys, hold tight" or "Guys, stay on your posts"..
German Sailors also say "Mug" instead of the german Word "Tasse".

no idea whats that supposed to mean.
definitely some naval phrase, but the grammar is simply fubar and the whole thing makes no sense at all.
must be some specific phrase....

did some googling:

translates best into either

guys hold on - meaning the following infantry is supposed to keep close by and keep up the pace.

or

guys hold tight - meaning the infantry is supposed to..., well survive ^^
