Use any, and all means to defeat the enemy. that includes using AA guns in the anti-personnel role.
It is well documented that anti aircraft guns were used against soft targets on the ground by both the allied and the axis powers, so why shouldn't that be reflected in FH2?

Yes, that is what I want.  However, I want to know exactly how a flak38 shell impacted such soft targets like infantry, etc.

I want it to be a much more direct hit rather than the massive splash that the current flak guns in FH2 have.  I highly doubt flak guns did so much splash damage as is represented ingame atm.  The damage needs to be scaled down and I think the black smoke effect is very ugly.

Sorry, but they did.  They are firing grenades at you.

The blast radius on the 20mm is about the same as the grenades ingame.  The blast on the bofors is much, much larger, as it was in real life.  It is correct ingame.  Its not like in crap movies like SPR where you can get them splashing around you and you're ok.

The 76mm Sherman was a mythical beast until late June /early July 1944 and started gaining in numbers until August 1944 when used in strength for Operation Cobra. By September 1944 the 76mm tanks were fairly common and by Jan 1945 accounted for about 50% of all Shermans.

Some Sherman Jumbo's were field modified to take a 76mm gun in place of the 75mm gun.

Firefly was available on D-Day IIRC usually one Firefly per Sherman troop (troop is a group of 4 Shermans).

If the back of the turret had a rectangular box it was a Firefly.

Even if it was a Firefly why would anyone be surprised by this?  Short of a Challenger it was one of the few vehicles in Normandy that could take out a Panther or Tiger.

I think some rather light mobile AA would be nice. Like the AA Crusader with two 20mm cannons.

Of course the FlaK 38 was capable of firing AP ammuntion too. They'd probably be slightly more survivable than having 20mm HE rounds fired in your immediate vicinity.

Yes, of course, just it was as ineffectual as the 20mm on a Pz2, and they're not likely to say "There's enemy infantry, let's shoot bullets at it, instead of grenades!" :P

It barely saw action. It was used, like Many Self-Proppeled AA guns, in ground support missions

I'd never want to see mobile AA that fires explosive shells on anything other than a soft skin chassis.  It just makes it too overpowered against infantry.

Honestly, I would call the crusader a soft skin chassis :P

But yes, it was very rare.  Expect to see the halftrack AA and german wirbelwind/ostwind/mobelwagen AA guns eventuallly though.
