I played a few rounds as a SL, and I felt that the range of which the points were given was too restrictive, it forced me to behave more aggressively as I had to keep up with the squad, rather than wait around and let people spawn from me and move to the objective. Also it doesn't improve squad play, as only the SL gets points there was little to no gain for the rest of the squad to keep together.

Well the main problem is that I have almost no idea how to work with smoothing groups, so I just try to slap something together and hope it works. For example on those grips I put the entire thing on just one smoothing group, as in my mind the whole thing can be smoothened out. I could put the outer faces into another one, but then it comes out looking rather stupid and blocky. I was able to overcome this whole thing by adding an inset to the flat faces, but I'd rather not add unneeded polys to an already detailed object if theres a good way not to.

Also I exported it to see it on meshview and the stripes were still there $:-\$

I'm relativley new to 3dsmax and modeling in general, so can somebody enlighten me why the smoothing looks like this on the handles

Essentially I'd like the sides of the handles to be smooth and even, but somehow it comes up with these awful looking triangles.

The small cypress (cypress_5m) gives a metal effect when you shoot at it. The bigger ones dont have this effect.

afaik the servers will be changed between euro and american based each week for different battle, dont take my word for it tho. Atleast i get a decent 200 ping to the WaW pub server so the american server shouldnt be much of a problem for the europeans, tho i dont know how the oceania guys will manage the euro battles

Only thing is I don't know which regiment to join... For my first campaign it's probably best to go infantry but who to join... Achtungsnow leading the regular infantry (that guy is tough, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his skills) or McCloskey leading the engineers (Planes, arty & tellermines )... Decisions, decisions...

It really depends on which one you like, assaulting and securing, or deep defence and support. My inf regiment is more of an attacking type, but it doesnt mean that the pioneers wouldnt do that either. Both regiments do basically the same things as they are infantry, but pioneers do gain the big guns in the end. Also id like to mention that pilots are selected on a try-out in which your skills are tested regardless of which regiment you choose.

Nah Cherno is a good place to meet up as long as you are careful, also if you wander to the north you cannot miss the big airfield, takes a lot of area and is pretty much in the middle there, very easy to use as a meet up spot.
