Mhh, maybe not exactly like the ignorant left winger protestors. They settled at least for one side and compared Bush only to Hitler instead of putting him together with Marx and Hitler on one poster.

Ah, pity we don't have these religious fanatics here, it would really spice up the boring German election campaign.

Another nice British mobile AA would be the Staghound AA with two M2 Brownings.

It can't hurt to have a virus scanner, and there are good ones for free. I also recommend avast, I had better experiences with it than with avira. And seriously, who's NOT browsing for porn  ;)

I can believe they used the tracers on tanks, but how realistic are they on infantry machine guns. Isn't revealing your position by your tracers a stupid idea? I know for sure that I would have an easier life in FH, if the enemy players couldn't spot my tracers!

I would also like to see the early war, especially the western front. And people who want big tanks can allways get a Char B1. (And I'm still dreaming of the Char 2C, since we can't get the Maus)

In this case I'm sure it's Aces of the Pacific.

Aces over Europe? (Or probably Aces of the Pacific, but never played this one).
AoE was a superb game, and my first combat fs too (if you don't count the very strange dogfight mode of the first Microsoft FS  ;D )

Suggestions / Re: Suppression Effects
« on: 11-09-2009, 15:09:23 »
I liked the suppression effect in 2.0 it really made mg's alot more useful, would the devs consider some middle ground between what it was in 2.0 and what it is now? because I think it could do with some tweaking. Right now mg's are not that scary to come up against pretty much on par with your rifleman in abilities on the battlefield food chain, I think they should be higher., A good example are the mg nests in Purple Heart Lane all you have to do when you get killed is respawn, crawl to bush, aim garand and fire! problem solved!

I think it's too easy, overcoming these postions should really be a big team effort imo. Plus proof is in the pudding I hardly see fixed mg's getting used in game & in particular on PHL only one gets used reguarly until it gets mortared or the person gives up because they cant find all the sniping riflemen in the bushes quick enough. I'll be honest and admit I'd like to see 2.0 suppression effects back but I don't think that's going to happen but there has to be some middle ground right?

just my 2 cents

What he says, a slight increase of the suppression effect shouldn't disrupt gameplay too much. I don't know if the tracers are realistic (during broad daylight), but they make a well chosen, camouflaged mg-position nearly useless, further reducing the abillities of mgs.

General Discussion / Re: Whats ur little review of FH2 2.2?
« on: 08-09-2009, 12:09:31 »

One thing that consistently bothers me is the seeming ability of the enemy to target me when I think they shouldn't be able to.   Like, crawling through a cornfield (uphill!) and having a machine gunner in the town I'm approaching take me out.     From my perspective, he should neither have been able to see me or target me...Dunno what's going on there.
Having a powerful rig that allows greater resolution/draw distance is obviously an advantage.

Overall, very good!

Keep in mind, that grass and other small foliage isn't drawn on long distances. So while you were hiding in the crops, you may have laid in the wide open for the machine gunner. I don't know if reducing the details in the graphic options reduce the draw distance of foliage too, if it's the case, having a weaker rig may give you additional advantages by forcing you to use low settings.

Pointe Du Hoc - just epic, it feels so real with the fight along the road and flanking manouvers on the last flags.

As I said earlier, this is (after HOI) the best and most intense WW2-themed game today. The fights are just epic, positioning of tanks is very important and infantry fights with American weapons are amazing. I especially love the stug and the wirbelwind. Downed quite a lot of typhoons with this little bugger.
