Aww yes, this was a very nice episode indeed. Included all the things that make Game of Thrones such an awesome show, from the rich background stories of the characters and the world, to the full frontal nudity and sex scenes and from the fire-wreathed battle scenes and beheadings to the intrigues of the court at King's Landing and the tension between ser Mormont and ser Barristan.
One thing that confused me though was the music during the execution scene. It's the ironborn theme. 'Pay the iron price' if you have the season 2 soundtrack. Seemed more than a little out of place.
I'm also noticing that the further the story goes on, the less I remember from the books. I had to struggle really hard to remember the name of Stannis' girl (Shireen) and how Davos' story line goes in the book. Anyway, there were some other large deviations, but I can't talk about those as it will spoil the rest of the season. Need to read the books again. Or maybe just a Storm of Swords.
