I want the government to run my healthcare. They run my local DMV, (its state, i know) and it is very effecient. No 4 hour waits just to get a new liscence or anything like that. They also handled hurricane Katrina responsibly. I trust my government completely. *sarasm*  ;)

This video explains everything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oObL3Ajmr2Y

Our country is in Debt that we will probably never be able to pay off, and we are worrying about providing free healthcare? We are spending money we dont even have. We are borrowing money from a communist nation, who is also our number one trade partner. This isnt what our country was founded on at all. I dont see anywhere in the constitution where you are entitled to free healthcare. We should follow the constitution, because it is what this country was created around. Political parties are worrying about their own gains then representing the people. We are also too involved in foreign affairs. We should not hate people because we do not agree with them, we should instead stop listening to the people that use this hate to gain power. Both parties are running this country into the ground. The way the country operates now the so called "majority", 51% of people are represented in government, and the rest are not. We are a long way's away from the foundation of this country. I'm sure if you brought the founding fathers into the present they would be disgusted with what they saw.

My guess would be they would expand on The western front more. Now that they have some of the vehicles and most of the statics that they would need. They have more major operations such as Market Garden, or Battle of the Bulge. They could even do Early war with the Invasion of France. I'd rather see them Finish the Western front before they moved onto a new theatre.

In normandy maps I feel like i rarely engage infantry over a distance of 75 yards. Even shooting across the streets in some maps (about 25 yards) you cant hit anything trying to shoot quickly. Which is easily done in real life.

uhhhh...... Im talking about dumping the clip as fast as i can at those ranges.  I can take my m1 garand out to 250 yards (as far as my local range goes) and get about three inch groups, and shitty m16s? My dad in the marine corps could shoot his m16a2 no optics at 1000 yards. He qualified expert every time he qualified. Try doing that with an ak47. I guess we shouldnt get into this kind of another topic  ;D

Theres no need to make the sight smaller at all. There is one simple fact that is killing me, and as a Garand shooter in real life, I can tell you that the recoil is far too vast and needs to be lowered slightly. Period. I'm not asking for M1 Carbine recoil, but I am asking that the M1 Garands recoil be lowered, it doesn't reflect how the weapon feels in real life, and as a result of the added recoil, weapons like the K98 are getting an advantage over it because of this supposed "balancing".

I don't care about how hard the recoil looks. I care about the shot dispersion. Is the shot dispersion in FH2 unrealistic, compared to how fast you shoot it? Now I haven't fired an M1 Garand IRL, but it should serve its purpose with regards to shot dispersion.
Also, it has a slight learning curve to it. Once you get a feeling for how much to pull down on the mouse, you'll be able to rapidfire quite easily. I for one can easily get off two aimed shots in slightly over a second. The K98 can maybe get an aimed shot off each two seconds. And the K98 has absolutely no advantages over the Garand, especially in close quarters.
We tried many different M1 Garand fire animations during betatesting. The reason we chose this one, is, you can more easily regain focus on your target.

Yes the shot dispertion is unrealistic. I cant remember ever rapid firing the garand and finding myself leaning back with the sights way over the target. I can put a three round burst at about 25 yards with the 1st shot right on target second shot about 1/2 an inch above, and the third about and inch above that. An 8 round quick sustained fire would be less accurate but at about 15 yards i can get all 8 on target. I can get all 8 while rested on a block at about 25 yards.

ive fired a BAR personally. It does not have much kick at all. It weighed almost 3x as much as the garand about 24 pounds. It doesnt really kick at you its kind of like a slight steady push if you shoot with sustained fire.

G43 and M1 garand are very similiar in weight, (M1 garand 9.8 lbs g43 9.7)  both are gas operated. 7.92x57 and 30-06 both have pretty much the same recoil. So recoil for both guns should be the same.

g43 rapid fire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAcioMYtKy0

m1 garand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fny4Fr11tEk&feature=related
and m1 garand bump fire (its very fun ive done this before)  ;D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HORC9aX3UVs

as you can see there isnt much if any difference in recoil.

Yeah...Ramelle wasn't a real battle....

Either way, my two cents, recoil should stay the same, BUT it should be faster and more accurate in dropping back onto target so you can get a quick follow up shot, as it was in real life.  Remember, as americans, they do not have the advantage of a powerful machine gun (the BAR doesn't count, it is really just a 20 round rifle set to auto, not a belt fed, support fire MG).  American squad doctrine in WW2 was based on the firepower of individual riflemen, while MGs were just extra support, whereas German squad doctrine (which is now modern day american squad doctrine) was based on the power of the machine gun, with the riflemen being nothing but then support for the MG, thus why they never REALLY went full steam with semi auto rifles...they didn't need them.  So I think that should be shown ingame.  MG for german is better, that's already done.  But the american garand SHOULD be able to pick and fire faster with less delay then a bolt action, its that simple.

not a real battle eh? I guess i know alot more about my guns then i do the battles  ;D. I would be okay with what your suggesting. The way it works now it kind of throws the sights up in the air when you shoot and it does not come back down. When in a battle situation you would Compensate for this automatically, because you are trained with your rifle.

Its the Last battle from Saving Private Ryan. They had no Armor support as is illustrated in FH1.

I started this to debate the garands recoil. I'm giving my two cents. I'm not flaming anyone. I'm not directing this at anyone but i find the balance excuse BS. It wasnt fun for the Germans? Alright I guess i should expect to find Shermans on a Road to Ramelle map if you make one. Its no fun for the Americans, they get camped by tanks all the time. It's just sacrificing a  (sarcasm)  SMALL BIT (end of sarcasm) of realism.

i dont know why this has to do anything with getting used to. Its about realism. I dont know why some of you guys arent getting this. The garands recoil in the game is 3x more then it is in real life. I love the garand and have been waiting for it ever sine the first version of FH2 came out. For the people saying its about balance i find that rediculous. I cant remember anything in FH sacrificing realism for balance. Why should the garand?

Ok, let's give it a week.  Maybe it will be easier to control with experience.

This has NOTHING to do with getting used to. I made this thread to say the M1 garands recoil is unrealistic. Thats it. This has nothing to do with balance, and it shouldn't. I've been playing since FH1, and i know this mod aims to be historically accurate. I have alot of experience with the M1 garand, and it is represented well in this game except for the recoil. It is way overboard, all im asking is for the M1 garand to be realistically represented in the game. It was known to be able to put multiple accurate rounds downrange at long distance  very quickly which is damn near impossible right now. You have to reset and find your target all over again, which gives it no advantage over the k98 at medium to long distance now. I find that rediculous.
