Yep, but can't help to feel uneasy at how carefree those people are around that major public square. While I gazed uncomfortably at every unattended bags placed near the cathedrals.

Yes, the extra securities deployed near European / American embassies were due to Australian intel info. The bomber were apprehended on the Saturday that week. For an attack scheduled on the week after. This arrest includes the jihadi bride... an ISIS customary. The annoying thing is that the IM gangs were actively dismissing the anti-terrorism raid as a political cover  for the Jakarta governor's blasphemy trial. This is just like those "middle east moderates" all over again, pretentious, secretly ISIS-supporting perverts. The agenda is that 1. Because ISIS is fighting against Shia establishment. 2. ISIS can be easily dismissed as American's fault in Iraq. 3. ISIS can be easily dismissed as heretic as they have too many fatwas that are not aligned to the actual religion.

Extreme vetting suggested by Trump? I bet the snitches are mostly regular peaceful Muslims like that German Syrian heroes and Shah-Rukh Khan in "My Name is Khan" movie. And just like FBI in the movie and feckless Belgian police, nobody would take them seriously until the attack really happened.

Meh fuck protection. How can you really stop such an attack? I could rent a truck tomorrow and drive it into a crowd and no one could do jack shit. I guess they could identify me quickly on the tapes.
Amazing how much of a pussy everyone has become here. In WW2 Germany was bombed to pieces everyday and thousands died, yet the Germans kept supporting the Nazis up until the Russians and Americans were up their ass. Today whenever some pathetic weirdo kills a bunch of people (tragic as that is) everyone screams for their own freedom to be cut in the name of safety.
I guess since we got rid of life after death the only goal is to extend it pointlessly. If some Islamistic fuck wants to blow me up: Have at it, I died a free man and not a cowardly murderer.

My parents lived through the Troubles in the 80s, this isn't much compared to that. People grinned and bore it, this can be dealt with too.

Yeah, well: I choose to live without fear. Like I said after 9/11 (we had some attacks in our country, murdering a politician and a somewhat strange character who was famous for making strange movies and so called "shock-TV"), I'd rather have a bomb being blown up in my face than having to live in terror the rest of my life, being afraid everyday of "what might happen". That's not living, imo.

a very close friend of my sister sat in the subways when the Zaventem terrorist attacks happend. The bomber exploded 1 or 2 humans from me. Today she is still heavily scarred by it. But life goes on

i almost lost a friend, she had to be in zaventem, under the TV screens that day at exactly that time. But a her airliner re-scheduled the flight to a day earlier. AKA, i could have lost her

Fear is weird.. I have no fear for a bomber..I fear for someone abducting one of my friends and raping her

Theta, these was 1 survivor on that metro carriage, so how could she have been in it unless she was that very (un)lucky tourist. No doubt she was close, but not 1 or 2 human away from the bomb, whatever that means.

siben, TheTA means probably that the bomber was 2 personal connections from him (TheTA => sister => friend => JIHAAAAAD), not that his sister's friend sat two seats away from the bomber (but possibly still in the same subway, only a different carriage). You know, like the game "Six steps to Kevin Bacon".

Well, in a span of a week we lost Carrie Fisher, George Michael and the entire Alexandrov Ensemble, seems 2016 is going for a some kind of a record, If I were someone with even a semblance of fame I wouldn't leave my house till January.

Merry effin' christmas.
