We're trying to keep the game going with our server so hereby you're all invited to come in and play!

Someone should start up a project for getting vanilla players to play FH2... Because most of the vanilla players actually never heard of mods...

That picture is making me sick tbh  :-X

Hey I would join if you are running the smaller map sizes with less players???

About dropping maps: when a new version is just out, it's likely this will happen, but I hope they will return soon. My experience tells me I'm gonna miss some of those maps when they have been away for too long.

I wish now that the "Newer" Africa maps were played more than the old ones. Fall of Tobruk is Epic. Giarabub is Epic. Crete is Epic. I know for a fact I would stay on HSLAN longer, as would other people if new maps were played more that the 2.0 maps.

Crete is not from 2.15, or do you consider 2.1 to be new as well?

Ya. The 2.0 maps simply do not have the quality/level of detail as the newer maps. Most people will admit this. I'm not saying that the old maps are bad. I'm saying newer ones need to be played more. Basically no one wants to play Aberdeen,Halfa, or maybe even supercharge. Dont get me wrong I like some old maps. I love Bardia, Sfakia, and Sidi Rezegh. But new maps like Fall of Tobruk are just so much better they need to be played more. God I want to play that map

I tried to play FH2 the other day, but there were only 16 ppl on the server. In my opinion, the maps are too big for only 16 people, so there may as well be 0.

Last night I wanted to play, but there was only 1 populated server, with 1 person on it.

I miss the hey days of FH, always lots of people, always lots of fun. There were even alot of us playing the mod back when 1/4 of the vehicles/models ingame were grey with no skins, it didn't matter!

I've had some trouble getting into FH2, because there's something with the 'feel' of the new engine I don't much prefer, but I love FH and the community, so in spite of getting bit by and sucked into the WoW machine, I've always kept up to speed on what FH is doing and it saddens me to see the mod with soo few players.

I really wish the Normandy release props up the player base numbers again, and I also hope it gets me into FH2 again.

I would love to see an update, it feels like it's been a while since the last one, but in spite of it all the FH dev team has done an incredible job and left a legacy in the modding community.

Cheers.

Great post I agree its just sad to see so few people play a awesome mod. Tell everyone about it, get more people playing. And I dont care what anyone says it was a clear mistake to do Africa first. That killed player numbers that this mod might not be able to overcome.

You're entitled to think it was a mistake and you're also entitled not to care what anyone says. But in the interests of fair representation I feel I must state on record here that doing any theatre other than Africa would have extended the wait-time for FH2 to the extent that when it did come out it would have fewer players than it does now.

I also think the devs should be praised for, in my opinion, the best representation of the Africa campaign an FPS has ever had. I do accept, however, that player numbers are low because of ADHD kids not liking the lack of cover and crying 'weth meh bazooka?!1', but with Normandy both of these complaints will be fixed, and there'll be so much more as well.

My biggest fear for the long term, in fact, is that top-notch Africa maps will be abandoned in favour of 'NORMANDY NORMANDY NORMANDY' when 'the new playerbase' settles in. I think server admins need to be careful in how they arrange maps in the coming months.
Great points. I know that this is the best representation of Africa. When I play I think "Wow if Africa is this awesome imagine what Normandy will be like!" And you are right about how it would have taken a long time to do a different theater first, didnt think about that. But still you have to accept that Africa did turn a lot of players away. I am kinda happy for when some Africa maps get dropped. I wish now that the "Newer" Africa maps were played more than the old ones. Fall of Tobruk is Epic. Giarabub is Epic. Crete is Epic. I know for a fact I would stay on HSLAN longer, as would other people if new maps were played more that the 2.0 maps. I think if the rotation was setup so that new maps were played 2X more than 2.0 maps, it would be a great setup. I just want to play Fall of Tobruk more!

You're right. I should have been more kind. I already said I didn't want to be rude. My question was sincere. I really want to know how much experience he has in forums in general. Just to see why he didn't search first.

I will revise before I post in the future.
I have plenty of experience. I have lurked here since before 2.0. I mainly post on Gamespot, 3700 posts there http://www.gamespot.com/users/AdamPA1006/about_me?tag=profile-nav;about-me

If I saw a post about it that was relating it to FH2 I obviously wouldn't have posted it. But I didn't see any, and posted it. I honestly dont see why I would have to search for it when I directly related it to FH2, and didnt see any post about it on the main FH2 discussion forum.

Um why would I look in off topic if I was relating it directly to FH2?

New BF2 patch info- http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/main/showthread.php?t=190029
Looks good. But the one thing I have been ADAMANTLY claiming for in FH2 is better hit detection. Every time I play, I imagine how Awesome this game would be with say COD hit detection. The horribly hit detection kills urban combat for me, mainly with rifles. But look at the changelog- tweaked hit detection?? Tell me this will be usable in FH2?

I'm still pissed at how few people play this game, FH2 needs to get the ingame message on BF2 when it is released. I dont care if new people are noobs, we need more people. 1 server is a joke for how good this game is

I honestly say its hard to believe that the lack of updates is because of "Nothing to show" when we know that there is many maps we havent seen and are being played on like Purple Heart Lane and Falaise Pocket

The point is that the players and the developers can work in synchronicity. The players reoprt small bugs while the developers fix them.
Devs are not there to just fix bugs. They also have to worry about developing content, and if every FH2 player floods the private forums with 2+ insignificant bug posts they will be overwhelmed.

Quote
By the way: My suggestion includes the fact that the developers would fix major problems outright, leaving the players to find the infintesimal bugs that will appear only after hurs of gaming.
But thats what our (like Apple said) huge beta testing team is for, and trust me when I say we do test FH2 for hours every week. Its more than just releasing map files. We get a new patch almost every week ranging from 80mb to 780mb. Currently there are more than enough patches to discourage a lot of casual players from downloading them all.

In conclusion I'd just like to say FH2 will be released when its finished!

Ok I understand this. But why can't we know what maps are in development? Or just know more things in general? I understand everything is WIP, but why cannot you keep us updated on that? This is a free mod and I dont see why you cant be open with development. Please tell me.
