Unfortunately I'll miss the release for some days because I'm on a camping trip untill the 27th (actually I'm typing this on my iPhone, sitting in our RV on a Swedish camping site :D) but I'm really excited about that release. I'm curious if 2.4 will make me addicted to FH again.

very nice trailer, but why Zero allied tank action? Just one sherman jumbo showing on 4 seconds or so!

Would have been nice to see a speeding M24 chaffee and a rocket willy unleashing its rockets!

just some friendly advice to kubador, the FH2 movie maker=I just simply noticed that there is most of the time far more attention in the trailers to the germans then the allies. This has nothing to do with the bias meme.. this is just my opinion. Been chatting here with fellow FH2 players on steam, and they kinda agreed here
No offense, your trailers are kickass  ;) truly great style and music    just a tiny bit more diversity bitte :v

Ya, a few more may be missing there as well.
Not a new weapon, but for most maps the StG44 is standard issue (spawnscreen), makes a big difference. And its recoded nicely.

Faust 100 is only as pickup.

HOLY CRAP

I CAME WITH THE FORCE OF A THOUSAND SUNS

Static screenshots certainly didn't do justice for the new filters, blurry edges of FoV, and the like. Frak, FH2 looks better than MW2 now.

I can probably live with the fact that there are "only" a gazillion tweaks, new front, winter statics for fanmappers, five new maps, revisions to most old maps, new flight model and whatnot, since now my three-year addiction can continue while looking as good as games made six years later :P

I think, we - the players - have to thank more. Your work looks great, and offers more than any other FPS out there. This mod has nearly endless possibilities and so much content, what you will never find in any other FPS. And it is all for free. So a big thank you to the dev team, testers and all involved.

Btw: This game with this fantastic mod gets never old. I will play FH2 till the end of my live, I think  ;D

Really shows off the new graphics, looks a lot better everything seems to blend better on the screen players & tanks looked like they didnt stick out so much cant wait!

I make a trailer with a goal of showing most breathtaking action/thrill packed scenes I can think of on a map. Those situations are totally possible within the game and not have to be staged to be experienced by the player. By that I (hope) create "I Vant to play zis!" factor in viewers mind.

I don't feel 'biased' to neither of factions that are in the mod and try to show what looks best in given situation. German armor is the one that can take a beating most of the time and thus gives more rickoshets => whoah, almost died.

Besides I just counted and in the trailer there are 10 allied perspective centric scenes and 8 axis ones.

I also welcome any kind of feedback, right or wrong because it gives me an idea how my work is percieved - thank you everyone for that!

Well i wassent the only one who mentioned this (For protection, dw, i wont mention your names ;))   its just an i impression i got, and several others. it has nothing to do with bias. Just a little "perhaps you could do this"

Because i just counted 5 german tank scenes. And one allied one. Replacing one german with an extra allied one, would have done miracles! 

Please dont get me wrong here :v  i just vant to help!

Put it this way, we filmed that tank scene on Vossenack twice.  Both times the US tanks got slaughtered because they have none that can take a hit and because we all knew where they were.  (I was in the Hetzer btw).

Put it this way, we filmed that tank scene on Vossenack twice.  Both times the US tanks got slaughtered because they have none that can take a hit and because we all knew where they were.  (I was in the Hetzer btw).
Well, that and the fact that the Germans killed like 5 US tanks before Kuba gave the go-ahead to deal killing shots :p

Anybody notice the brown Uniforms the US have? Look at 1:46 for instance.

Some things that just make my day:
1. Sounds eg. new projectile sound, unique aircraft sound,
2. Losing the grenade shout.
3. New death sounds  :o :o :o
4. Removing abstracting BAR sights
5. New pistol sounds.
6. Less terrain damage
7. Less stamina loss from jumping
8. Reduced 50mm bomb sound and rocket sound....
9. Switching spotted comm-option with charge... yer, that got annoying once it changed positions
10. Fixed large number of vehicle AI files
11. Fixed Totalize CTD in SP....
12. Add 88mm gun to blockhouse, moved arty to mosque, locked 88s to Germans (Sid Rezegh)

I must say though, Von Mudra must be pissed though with some of those - Brown US and all - Blasphemy! And less stamina loss from jumping?! F...ing ANIMALS!!!....

Well, we see how it all plays out, no? Its not like you can still dolfin-dive, right?

Pitty there is no late war Map with SP support... maybe some time along, eh, Remick_04? Cuz Vossnack is just too epic!

*Still think we've lost the one chance the German March from Patton would have most-made sense. Still LO-ove the video, especially in FPS view. Wish we saw the new weapons in use though... Its more a showcase of the maps and effects than weapons and vehicles

Yeah, but, now its just a MG34 with more ammo.  There is literally no fire rate difference, it is not putting more bullets down range per burst.  It can fire for longer, but that doesn't mean its any different from the MG34 in terms of fire rate.  You might as well just give the MG34 the belt that it SHOULD have on the lafette and bipod (the drums stopped being used in the late war anyways), and just use that on all maps.

Well yes, apart from the magazine count, the MG42 is essentially identical to the MG34 now. But it's either that or the other solution and as we feel this makes the MG42 more effective than before, we have chosen this one.

Then why not give it the full 1800? It's not like that you would very often live long enough to worry about the ammo consumption anyway. Maybe FH2 players at the receiving end would then finally start to treat the Scourge of God as its real-life targets did.

wow I just returned from a week on the Azores, and am met with an avalanche of updates and actually a release of the patch!  :o Im telling you the guys have done some serious crunching and testing to get all this stuff together these last days, nice one!

FYI:: Ive skimmed through most of the pages of these announcement threads, and the issue about the informativeness(?) of our changelogs needs perhaps a clarification; what you read there is a summary, kind of like the "highlights" of what we actually develop. A quick check ot our internal filehandling system tells me we have updated the mod mover 2,500 times since the last patch.
Obviously, we cant make a changelog with all those entries, it wouldn't be comprehensive. It is also not possible to summarize and present every single little detail, it would take weeks to write it.

For old maps, such as Crete, the changelog might just tell you "Crete updated", while in our internal automated changelog forum, the developer might have added a note for the testers to check out, in this case this was me, and the Crete changes were infact;

- Ambient sounds
- BF2 trees replaced with FH2 trees
- Removed a few (4-5) Bofors guns to make the german assault easier
- Made it possible for up to 6 german transport planes to exist at the same time (was 4)
- Re-placed german airfield spawns better (faster access to planes)
- Added Pak35s for german defense at Aerodrome, Suda Bay & Chania
- Added german pickup Mortar at Monastery and Aerodrome
- Slight redesign of "Rear Guard" flag (bigger capzone, opened one tent, repositioned spawnpoints to prevent too much spawnkilling)
- Bigger capzone at "Hill" flag
- New Lightmaps on terrain + ground (needed after new trees placements)
- Correct Game Mode Description ("Assault")
- Removed static noise from destroyable radios (mod-wide fix, as these caused soundbugs inside all houses on maps they are placed on)
- Added EAX sound file (loads openlandscape reverb properties)
- COOP / SP updates (by Remick04)
- Added working ticketbleed python plugin (by Spit)


so this is just an example of what a proper changelog would look like, for one map... We simply can not write it all in this detail for everything, it takes too much time.
Hope you enjoy the release, and I am sure in matter of hours, many of the updates we have done, will be clear to you, by experience instead of text files  :)

I am really looking so mutch forward to play tonight even as a tester i cant wait one of the bedst things about releases are the  things people type ingame when they discover stuff and get amazed etc.

And like i did the last 2 releases i am sending the kids and wife of to the sister inlaws, i have my brandnew BOWMORE island surf 12 year old whisky again and i have sleept for 10 houers stright, i am eating rib eye steak for dinner, and then i am so ready for this.

Sounds awesome mate. Personally Im just happy to get this baby out. It feels like having a shit after a loooooong constipation. You are so reliefed that its over, but in few minutes you start to think of the next time you have to lower your cables on the porcelain. Its like the same for me, I think of upcoming beta and new content to test. This is "holiday" time for me. No testing for couple of weeks, nothing but enjoying the new release and deleting the spam you people write here.

In FH2 all german vehicles have MG34 except the Puma, which has MG42.

I recently emptied both a 15yrs and a 12yrs Bowmore, but now on my vacation I thought Id test a new Scotch so I got me a bottle of a 12yrs old Cutty Sark, it's blended malt though, I haven't tried it yet, but believe me there will be some tryin' of that for the release party tonight  :D

Are we talking about co-ax and hull MG's? They are 34's, sure, but in Normandy the 42 is on Panther's hatch and on 251D's pintle mounts.

I hope my nagging had something to do with adding a good change log...That answers a lot of questions that would've been taken to the forums and caused headaches for everyone.

To comment on the many changes:

It's a very impressive list of feature changes which I am very much looking forward to seeing in action, and I for one congratulate the team on such an impressive undertaking and overhaul. 

This obviously has been something in the works for the better part of a year so I say take a break and come play with the fans!  Hope to see some devs out there in the game, please...add a [FH2 Dev] Tag to your name so we can say thanks!  You guys have out-done yourselves again, as an everyday player myself my expectations for the patch are far far exceeded.

As a mod team it's very important to strive to keep improving a game among a every growing sea of amazing AAA titles, even if it's on an older engine, there definitely is always something that can be improved.  I believe  AAA developers get away with doing nothing to improve their games all the time, especially considering the money they rake in, with the exception of Valve me thinks.  So again kudos to FH2 for continuing their amazing work!

 Go easy on the Russian dude, imo his translator makes him sound much more impatient than he actually is. His team plays on the Russian Accent server and I am sure they just want to be able to better educate the Russian (non-english speaking) fans about the eventual introduction of their country into FH2.
