Editor Problem
« on: 21-07-2010, 08:07:32 »
So i have created some textures for the editor and they worked out pretty well.
Now i have added a new texture as new colormap. But evertime i try to load a map or even create a completly new one, the editor crashes..tried evertything, deleting the file, compressing and so on. Anyone sees a way to solve this without setting everything up new?

Thx

I haven't got as far as custom textures or colormaps, the only thing I could suggest as a pointer and you probably have been there already is fenrigs (where is fenrig btw?) tutorials on this particualr point.

The only other thing I could suggest is, how are you exporting your .dds files? Which program?  this seems to be a theme cropping up on the BF2editor forums time&time again.

check the .dds you made again. I bet some of them are 0kb in size, which make the editor go ka-boom

Both, but detailmaps wherent a problem, only the colormaps screw the editor from time to time (man i hate that thing!)

You painted a big file right? a 2D map that you want to import in Editor. For a 512x2 map you should create a 2048x2048 .tga file and use the "import" function in Editor (texture mode) this will create a "mods" folder in your level folder, in there you find new editor colormaps files, move these in to editor/colormaps.

A bit of a hassle to use that function, I suggest the BF2 Mod Toolkit which is alot better.
