This is the problem:

It says this when trying to re-upload your avatar.

At least linking an avatar seems to work again.

I just tried re-uploading again, but I got the same error message as before:

I reuploaded to my photobucket album, same as my signature. Crisis Averted. : P

I have it back now. But experiencing difficulties when uploading new avatar with Google Chrome.

I confirm, old avatars and attachments are back. Phew, the case is closed.

I tried to upload it here (to Warum). But now it doesn't matter, because I have it back.
