mh.
That makes not too much sense for to give germans the mg26 when they already have the FJG. which is very effective.

Giving away the rifle nades will jsut make it harder for the US troops, Or were just the german ones deleted?

Nope, lili is a german. He just writes fruehling cause the texture is to be used on maps in the spring.

Yes, if the problem is worked out it'll most probably be changed back.
Title: Re: Changelog discussion

I already see you guys are getting completely the wrong impressions by reading this changelog. Our comments are often very arbitrary, committing one change with a message, then later reverting it without one. Then you have to understand that the wording used is very general and can mean a lot of things.

For example,

M3 grant gunner camera pos means that the camera (the player's viewpoint) was moved closer to the sights. I really don't see how this is so exciting. Perhaps you're thinking of something else.

Weapon selection icons are menu icons that all weapons have. They're often added later than the actual weapon.

Port-en-Bessin update means the flag radius of the church flag was moved slightly.

"Crete updated, Sfakia updated, Sidi fixed" ect ect ect mostly mean simple small bugfixes.

SMG projectiles do more damage at close range (lightning) this change was later reverted.

Protip: version 1.1.885 is known in some circles as FH2.3.
Title: Re: Changelog discussion
Post by: Kelmola on 12-07-2011, 22:07:02
Yes, I know.

But to save me the trouble, did the taken-away russian vehicle ignorelist affect that pre-2.3 part? Or were all Ostfront changes (that you decide to show at all even with 2.4) documented there already when 2.3 changelog was shown?
Title: Re: Changelog discussion

Pretty sure that the changelog shown with each update is just the same as the one packed into the installer automatically.  99% sure that nothing gets removed.

Next, thanks to the work of numerous developers, the overall movement physics of the player has been tweaked as well. The way you move, jump, and sprint has all been adjusted to give a more immersive, and yet still enjoyable experience.

after looking over the changelog, i did not noticed any changes that would effect player movement or did i miss this. if not, any chance of elaborating more on these types of changes? im excited for more of a 'realistic' player movement over the typical bf2 jump, prone, crouch mashing movements. or are these features to be stated in future news?

As already seen, lots of the changelog stuff is not what it may sound like.
Specifically a lot of Russian content, map stuff, and a lot of stuff is uncoded, or reserved for maps far into the future. Basically the SVN is used as a storage - there's no guarantee all content there will ever get used. But we hope to!

As mentioned, its not really intended for public release, as only the title of the changelog entry is included in the changelog. In our revision system which auto-posts to the betatester forum, details on said change are explained within the thread. A seemingly unimportant entry may change 100 files, and so on. In addition, only specified SVN revisions are posted to the changelog/tester forum.

But we still enjoy releasing them, and will happily clarify any questions directed at specific entries, but we reserve the right to I KNOW NOTHING! Just don't make any assumptions based on it.

I must admit that there is a lot of things which I don't understand in the changelog, but still I can see a lot of awesomeness in there. There is no need to make it more friendly for ppl from outside of the team. I really like to read about those details. Devs - you are geniuses from me!

No, getting stuck on something is a problem with the object's collision mesh.

Well I'm kind of bored today, I'll see if I can make a proper 2.3 to 2.4 changelog out of this mess.

I remamber that there was a Scottish soilder during the  D-Day, who marched from the Sword beach to the Pegasus Brige playing on a bagpipe.  ;D
