Title: How to be a modeling volunteer?
Post by: Alesis on 27-09-2018, 10:09:57
Hi there!

How can I help with modeling?
I love your game in spite of many conspicuous mistakes with uniforms and I want FH to be better and better.
I've heard that you are developing Eastern Front Company and I guess that it needs vehicle models. As I see, current FH version have no many soviet vehicles models. Like ZiS-5, ZiS-42, GAZ-67, BA-10, BA-20, BM-13 based on ZiS etc.
So, as I have free time I can do these models if you need.
Also I haven't seen some German vehicles.

I'm sorry if I chose the wrong thread or broke the rules, I just registered here.

Best regards,
Ales

Could you post some samples of your work?

It would be refreshing to see further variants (+ fixes) of current German vehicles. Such as Pz IV Ausf J, StuG IV late (Ausf J chassis), Panther Ausf D, Jagdpanzer IV... and perhaps some middle production variants of the StuG III Ausf G and the Tiger I, and of course brand new ones - such as Nashorn and Hummel  8)

My best guess would be to pop up on our Discord (https://discordapp.com/invite/QnQ9JpS), and present some of your work in the workshop channel.  ;)

I can't boast of big experience in modeling. However I think it's enough to make some lowpoly vehicles.
The images are too big for this page, open them in new tabs:

I also had a lowpoly experience, but it's too little =)
I found a few screenshots:

Everything looks very nice. You seem to have plenty of talent. Especially digging those building designs.

UNIFORMS! This is exactly where you can help. The so called "mistakes" are often results of lack of manpower and wrong uniforms are often used as placeholders. For example we need proper Polish uniform for Lenino, but there are of course many other things that could be improved too. Seeing you have some experience with playermodels, I would aim for that if I were you.

I've seen it, I'm not a dev, just a beta tester, and I don't know much about 3D models, but you seem to be a talented artist. Joining our Discord costs you nothing and in there we can talk in real time. I'm pretty sure devs will accept a helping hand, as long as you'll prove to be able to work in a team and accept its current priorities ;)

To  jan_kurator:
I'm not so good in character modeling, but at least I can help with consulting in uniforms. I'm WWII reenactor and seeing German paratroopers in SS uniform is so hard for me XD

Okay, I'll join this channel, but I can't talk in real time cause I don't know English well as you can see and it's hard to write messages quickly =)

This is ok. We can find ways to communicate. Its easier for us to discuss this in discord though.

Sure, we need every helping hand! Though not many people are active on a forums nowadays. All the magic happens on Discord (https://discordapp.com/invite/hU878P4) these days, so feel free to join our cool kids club there 8)

Just contact devs on Discord if you are interested in helping out, and post those pics in the #workshop channel. That's where the modding related stuff belongs ;)
