Off-Topic / Show some holiday pictures!
« on: 14-07-2012, 17:07:51 »
Hey guys, back from my 2 week holiday in the French Alps. We did some walking there, to some lakes high up and some peaks. I found even a nice little flower there after climbing 700 meters and walking for several hours. It wasn't to far from the official trail, we left it to find a nice spot to eat our lunches. Don't worry, i watch my steps, i do my best to make the damage i do as little as possible.

The mountain side, maybe 30 meters below the top

A detail, wild Edelweiss (people kept it in pots in the nearby towns)

View from the top.

I have plenty of other nice pictures, but first i want to see where you guys spend your summer holiday.

Yes people, i am talking about Pluto, it has been 5 years now since some fancy "scientist" guys decided to kick it out of the "cool planet" club only because Eris was bigger. Don't worry, you are still a planet to me Pluto!

Off-Topic / My mouse is about to die.
« on: 12-04-2011, 15:04:00 »
After more then 5 years of duty my computer mouse seems to be past its prime days. not only is the paint coming off, the buttons are also starting to malfunction. The same with the scroll button.

I am currently using a Logitech G5 (i think, cant read the letters anymore)

What do you guys propose that i should buy? What is a good gaming mouse these days?

It needs to have:
USB connection
Comfortable grip
Adjustable sensitivity (3 different settings should be good enough).
Laser (not LED)
at least 5 buttons, preferred also a left and right function on the scroll wheel (so that you can scroll forwards, backwards, push straight down, tilt left, tilt right)
Overal nice looks

The budget is like 80 euro or so.

Thanks in advance.

It's sort of a Dutch speaking tread here but i was wondering, who has seen this movie?
The reason for asking is that i want to go and see it, but since it is only playing in 2 cinema's in the whole friggin' country here i would like some opinions of my Dutch friends first.

Bug Reporting / Hanomag bug
« on: 02-10-2010, 12:10:06 »
Hello everyone, i just finished a small game of 2.3 and i want to post a small bug that i found. When i incidentally scrolled with my mouse while in zoomed mode in the frontal MG42 a vanilla grenade symbol showed up in the lower right corner of me screen (right above the ammo count) I did not really change anything, but it should also not be there.

Edit: A screenshot.

FH2 Help / Support / A question about connection speed
« on: 20-09-2010, 19:09:28 »
I had the problem over the past week where my wireless connection to my laptop suddenly drops from the normal 24Mb/s speed to 1Mb/s. A speed to low to play online with unfortunaly since it creates instant 700ms ping and screws op TS in a way that i sound like a robot. The change happens what seems randomly and can be from a few seconds to hours. any suggestions on why it is like this? And why it was not like this the past 3 years?

Any admins here might want to take a look at that, latest warning that i got was when trying to read the "Midsummer's Eve Event: Battle of Britain" tread.

Amazing that they still find these things after 70 years. the pictures make me think that the wrack did not change in all that time, and nobody passed by considering the weapons and people where still in the plane.

Quote
Recently in taiga there were found the remains of a Soviet bomber. On 17th December 1939 approximately at 9.00-9.05 this bomber by extreme necessity took off from the airdrome Yagodnik 17 km from Arkhangelsk along the Northern Dvina river. The aid of the bomber was needed for destruction of the Finnish fortification. The weather on that day was awful and at 9.22 the bomber with four crew members aboard ran into the forest…

Today it is hard to reveal the cause of the wreckage. Perhaps they are quite usual - the range of circumstances: adverse weather conditions, bad pilot control, icing or maybe technical causes … However the fact is that the bomber stroke against the crowns of the trees and burst into pieces by the trunks as if it was made of paper… To tatters… In shreds…

Off-Topic / A question about German Wartime ranks + more
« on: 26-08-2010, 23:08:18 »
Hello guys, Last year i visited a few semataries belonging to German and French (Christian/Muslim) Soldiers who fought and died in the Elzas region during WW1 and WW2. Now I have a small question about the ranks of the German soldiers, some names are quite clear and easy to figure out, but others are a lot harder and that is where i need some expert help in. Also, as you will note in the pictures that i will provide is that the date of death in some is several months after the end of the war, infact on this sematary over 1000 soldiers died after the was was over, and that a very long distance away from Berlin. How come it is like this? How did they die?

First some WW1

What could this be doing on a WW1 sematary?

And now some WW2

Off-Topic / My 4 days of craziness (great pictures inside)
« on: 08-08-2010, 23:08:34 »
Hello everybody, as some have noticed I have been of the computer a bit for the past week or so. The reason for this is that I had decided that I would visit some museums. I posted a small preview a bit earlier on the walkarounds tread so some off you will already know what i am talking about. For those who do not know it I have attached some pictures so you can get a clue.

The pictures that I took are far from everything that I saw. I took pictures of a lot of the WW2 era things that I saw though and of other things that I found interesting myself. The pictures are unedited so they might be a bit large and there could be some blurry ones in it.

If you have any question about a picture, feel free to ask me.

I hope you enjoy them, link is at bottom of post.
