Well, Jimi, yours was not too hard to recognize :P I know he was in the army and I've heard he behaved not too well there.

The person who killed the boss and aquired the title "Big Boss" which was created for him. Saluting the grave of a true patriot. One of the most bad ass characters in video games and the original Snake.

USS Seawolf. The most beautiful submarine ever commissioned and a straight up badass machine. I manufacture submarine equipment at work, hence my affinity ;)

Lockheed Martin F-16C with snarky description of its namesake "Falcon." Since Peregrine falcon is considered the fastest animal on earth when diving for its prey.

Previously I use Ju-87B Stuka dive bomber as avatar with a pun-play text at its name "Stuka diving" which sounds like "Scuba diving."

Wat how can you like the Lannisters?  They're a bunch of turds.
That´s the beauty of "ASoIaF", not everything´s black and white. While there are some rotten apples falling off the Lannister family tree, the house is nonetheless an important player in "the game" and one can only be impressed at how Tywin turned a nearly-bankrupt and unimportant house into the richest player that eventually won the throne of Westeros over.
Right now (at the end of book 5, of course) things look rather grim with the less than competent mostly still alive and the competent either dead or broken, that´s true, so one can be curious how things will develop in the new books. And if SHTF, one can always shift their loyalties. :D
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

I'm back to using Horatio Nelson, British admiral, victorious at the Denmark Strait, Abukir, Trafalgar. This picture is the same as the one hanging on the facade in a restaurant in my town.

Ironically, I was looking for a picture of admiral Villeneuve when I found this one.

Just an ink crocodile I made myself from scratch. I like it so I put as my avatar. It's ironic how most avatars are someone's else work yet they still stand for individual expression :)

My avatar is John. Say hi to John.

Tywin Lannister, the man who thinks that killing 10 friends at a party is as honourable as killing 10 000 enemies on a battlefield. There's a reason why "Lannister honour" is a common expression. ;D

I have a dude that's holding a Geballte Ladung stickgrenade because I thought it was cool, also it kinda fits with "PanzerKnacker".
He was not wrong. Amateurs talk tactics, pros talk logistics.
