Don't know what actually happened here, the guy just exited the T-34 as I took the screen, then acted as a human deflector for the incoming PaK 40 round and flew away like a superman, still alive 
It's a common bug where AP shells bounce of the soldiers' bodies on low angles, like they do when they hit the armour, with the additional side effect of light weight soldier flying away in the opposite direction (because "physics"
).
Dunno what exactly causes it, since AFAIK angle mod is off for player models, and direct hits usually kill infantry (I often use 2 pounders on Alam Halfa to hunt german infantry) but I know there were some attempts to fix this bug in the past.
