I think the best option would be for the gun to kick as much as it does now, but for it to return to exactly the same position it was in before rather than just randomly stay a few inches above where it was when you fired it. That way there's no tiring and time-consuming drag of the mouse back to the previous firing position, and we get the best of both worlds - Garand doesn't become a gamebreaking rail gun but can maintain rapid aimed fire over time.
This is the best solution
I guess if you don't want to create "noob cannon" so to speak

Balance reasons. Germans got it rough against semi-autos with their bolt-actions.
Only if you define 'balance' as both teams having exactly the same strengths and weaknesses.  The  American Garand should be better than the German K98.  That should be one of America's strengths, just as the Germans should have better tanks and the advantage of being on the defense with their MG42s.  Each team should have different strengths and weaknesses.  That's one of the things that I liked about FH1.

seconded
I second as well

Great work on the mod but there is one thing to me that is huge and bothers me alot. The garand recoil is WAY off. When shooting it the barrel rises way too much. With the garand you can put 2 rounds on the target very quickly. Which is near impossible in FH2 because of the barrel rise. It rises like an smg.   I have alot of experience with the garand and it does not have much recoil. Me and my dad have collected alot of WW2 guns over the years. (garand springfield 1903 arisaka k98 enfield carcano m91/30 ) and the garand by far has the least recoil. Most of these shoot very similiar rounds so caliber is not the issue. There are two reasons why the M1 garand has lower recoil.

1. Its action. M1 garand is gas operated rotating bolt. It acts like the m16 of today which is also gas operated and the action absorbs much of the recoil.

2. Weight. The m1 garand is a bit heavier then the k98 and most of the other bolt guns. M1 garand 9.5 lbs k98 8.0 lbs.

most of those roudns would have it at about 20-30 yards.

I would have to agree with you

How many people can say that a mod and game engine update are LARGER than a DVD?

I was going to download bf1.5 and burn all 3 files off my system to a DVD (DVD5) but it's not possible. =X
lol

I'm sure they'll get round to it.

Best bet is to finish off the night, hit the pit, and wake up tomorrow morning. It'll be a lot easier. It's what I did for 1.50 and it's what I'm doing now.

It'll be there in the morning.
same here

Why is there no Pacific maps in FH2?
Because there was never fought in the Pacific. Jeez, learn history man..
That is not true the Empire of Japan and the USA went to war in 1941 and formed the pacific theatre if you need to verify this check this site http://www.history.com/encyclopedia.do?articleId=226140 and YOU learn history!
Haha, thats a 'What If Situation'-thread. It never happened man. However, I correct myself, the Micronesians fought a civil war in 1943 but that has nothing to do with the Second World War. Japan was neutral the entire war.
No the U.S were attacked at Pearl Harbor bringing them into the war. A day later, Germany declared war on the U.S. and got the U.S. into the war in Europe which is a general outline of how the U.S. got involved If you look it up you will find info about it.
