Even fighters parameters
« on: 23-06-2014, 15:06:29 »
In my opinion, to make sense of dogfighting in this game all fighters should have the same parameters. I don't get why for example P-51 with bomb turns twice faster than FW190? Total bullshit...

Physic parameters for the planes are based off of real life data to some extent (as far as the engine will alow). Some planes climb better, some are faster, some turn better etc, and you can take advantage of the strenght and weakness of the planes if you know how. If the P-51 with bombs turns twice as fast than the fw190 i would say something is bugged, in general the Fw190 and the P-51 (IIRC) should have pretty similar settings.

In fact, P-51D-20NA should not be as fast as FW-190A8 in turning. P-51D and P-47s are generally less agile than all of its British, German, and Russian counterparts, except at higher altitudes. Then, American planes must have superior top speed and acceleration.

But we have to balance and scale it out, otherwise every American planes in FH2 will be disadvantaged in such small space.

The endurance of the P47 is not as legendary in FH2 then it is IRL...

Must be shitty pilots then, because whenever I happen to be online during Cobra, the FW seems to hunt the mustangs like a falcon hunting it's prey. True that I dont fly at all and true that I dont even play that often either, that my judgement on the matter is completely irrelevant. But whenever I have FW's dogfight, I have seen them fare well against mustangs to the point that the mustangs have to retreat to fly over allied main with hopes of someone manning the AA there. Could just be that the pilots I've seen flying FW's were good and the ones flying mustangs were crap.

It's the only chance when Axis have still the airfield and fw pilots cooperate with each other...

Btw, why theres such huge difference between spawning times of allied and axis planes?

Because, Op. Cobra is basically untouched since Natty's changes, what results in it being very unbalanced and bugged. It has high priority on Gavrant's to-do list so expect some changes on Cobra in one of future small patches.

In real historical setting, the Axis should be at great disadvantage in Op. Cobra.

I checked in last play that the turning radius in FW is somewhat superior to P-51.

Nice joke... How did you check that? By counting seconds in your head?  ::)
