friendly mine indicator question
« on: 20-07-2011, 18:07:25 »
Are friendly mine indicators shown to the players by default or you need to press "left alt" to activate that? I remember that I didn't have (or simply didn't see) them why first playing 2.4 and asked someone in game about it. I left all available mines near my team spawn point today on FoT (as enemy was about to attack it soon) and get ultimate teamkilling minus score (and then fail with grenade what provided me ban on hslan :P ) so... How does it work?  ???

It is awesome we have those marks and retarded that half of players have them disabled. Could it always be shown by default when you enter game? It's easy to disable with Alt but people never remember to to put it on if it wasnät already.

In my game it was default transparency 0% for icons. Or are you talking about a different setting?

Those icons can be toggled on and off with "Alt"- key. Quite many players just seem to have them off.

I guess I had them on already, I remember seeing them. I didn't see them since though, do they work for AT mines as well, because the ones I saw were.. AP? Perhaps I should lay down some and hit ALT a few times to check.

This thread makes me think about Psykfallet und Dukat ;D

Id say dont call people a moron anyway. Sometimes you place a mine on a spot where your teammates spawn. This happens a lot on new maps where you do not know yet where the spawn points are.

if the flag falls you lay mines to assist your escape or just irritate the enemy until help shows up, - your team comes back in a counter attack retakes flag someone spawns on your mine, I get punished, it is the way of 256 servers, punish all the things.  I call them morons.  Because they are.

Anyhow, this is problem that I would like to see fixed. Is it possible to put them on permanently? Maybe just have on/off option in options, not in Alt that can easily be pressed just by accident?  :)

lol, I didn't even think of that  ;D

Edit: Could it be seperated from squadleaders objective marker? So that people who doesn't want to see sword with [###m] marker in middle of their screen, could still see mine markers.

I've been wondering why sometimes I was seeing the mine markers and sometimes I wasn't.

I nearly always toggle Alt to off because I hate seeing the small distance to marker icon (3D map) flying around the screen while I'm fighting (it spoils the immersion somewhat)  I didn't realise that this was turning off the mine markers aswell (doh)

Me personally would really like to keep the distance marker off while keeping the mine marker on.

Therefore I think ajappat has the right idea and the mine marker option should be selectable in the in-game options menu and not bound to the Alt key which is also controls the 3D map function.

Thats if it's possible off course  :)

the mine markers are a part of the 3d map... So not likely I think. I suppose they could remove everything else from 3 d map though...
