OK i got singleplayer to work now...i realized that it crashed when loading right after geometries turned down my settings and it worked....i played with a bit and can run it with texture, terrain, and geometries on high but everything els is turned down...i think shadows on high is what crashed me...

but now i have a new problem now when i try to join a multiplayer server it instantly crashed to desktop....anybody got any idea ..there are so many posts in the tech forums its impossible to find my prob in this sea of posts so sry if there is already a fix on here for this just point me in the right direction

I guess the next step of the procedure here would be to delete the cache folder under My_Documents/Forgottenhp 2/mods/bf2/.

Sorry that you are having the troubles, but FH2 is graphically pushing the limits of the BF2 Engine and this can cause problems for people with PCs at the lower end of the spectrum like yours.

I doubt it's the cause of your trouble, but it wouldn't hurt to update your DirectX (I think the latest version is 'June 2010').

Your 6200 is only a low-end card, but it seems there's a small chance you might be able to squeeze some extra grunt out of it:

Quote
...However, at introduction, production silicon was not yet ready. Nvidia fulfilled 6200 orders by shipping binned/rejected 6600 series cores (NV43V). The rejects were factory modified to disable four-pixel pipelines, thereby converting the native 6600 product into a 6200 product. Some users were able to "unlock" early 6200 boards through a software utility (effectively converting the 6200 back into a 6600 with the complete set of eight pixel pipelines total) if they owned boards with an NV43 A2 or earlier revision of the core...

You can find out which core (and it's revision) your video card's got with GPU-Z.

I used to have a 6600, I had everything set to medium and it had no trouble running FH2.

Running in windowed mode gave you no error as you wrote above... hmmm could it be a firewall problem?
Oh and did you try deleting the cache?

the worst part is i cant find a solution because every were i look try's to peddle me for money on bogus programs like registrybooster, fixcleaner, and wisefixer  the people who make these programs should be shot

You said BF2 works, so you can join (ranked) servers, no problems?

If not, it could be a CD-key problem. A quick way to check is to chuck your CD in the drive and see if it starts the installer.

Otherwise, go to your Start menu and run regedit, then go into:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc

This is where your CD-key info lives, if it's not there or there's a problem with it, it'll CTD when you try to play online, but offline works fine.

EDIT: Search this section of the forum for regedit... ;)

BTW, are you a necromancer?
