As far as I know the Alpha Project was started right after the release of BF2 because they were so disappointed with the actual release version of BF2. The trailers of the Alpha version looked different and, to many, more fun.

AP doesn't exist that long, does it? I thought it was only a couple of years.
It's a pretty decent replacement for vanilla BF2 :).

Well it's pretty cool as long as they have a coherent goal with their project, total conversions and improvements sometimes turn into a total mess. I'll take a look but I'm not sure if I'll have any time to spend for it. Haven't even managed to get the time to play pr for the last six months.

I remember watching development videos when I was still playing BF2 and mods. That's a looong time ago. Maybe it was a different mod with the same goal.

Can someone help me out, I downloaded the mod and unzipped both the core files and level files into my mods folder but when I launch the BF2ModLauncher it shows this: http://i.imgur.com/80CBC37.png

Couldn't find their help website so I decided to post it here, please help.

Something's amiss, it should show at least Battlefield 2 on that launcher's drop down menu. I first just downloaded the launcher, not any parts of the mod and played normal BF2 wondering why I can't see any servers... Then downloaded the packages and it added 'Alpha Project' after 'Battlefield 2' on that drop down menu.

Maybe something wrong with BF2 installation?

About the mod, a quick test on the server I could not see much difference to vanilla (this may be because I haven't played it for years!) Nice looking levels etc, but pretty messy textures compared to FH2. I'll give it another go this weekend, maybe there's more people online then.

I can understand them. The BF2 trailers really lied. Especially that Mashtuur City one.
