Not a good idea.
"there you go, a rifle, if you want something else you must join a squad and listen to whoever happened to click "Create a squad" first. Or you have to run wherever he goes just to get a proper weapon. And if he's a douchebag you're screwed."
It should not be a thing to be managed by SL. Squadless = Rifle, Eng. Squaddie = Coolest toys in the shop.
I've been pondering this for a long time myself. I see visions of things like spawn vehicles (APC's, Trucks, no tanks or jeeps), spawn vehicles with memory (SL sits in the vehicle for XX seconds, turns into squad spawn until wrecked. Only APC's/Trucks) or freely deployable building/location based spawn.
The last option should be invisible to enemy team and be destroyed by enemy troop entering the said area/building, like 25m or closer to the spawn? Then it's up to the SL to provide best location for his squad. Cooldown to lay down a spawn for living SL could be 3-5min or death. SL can spawn there 3 times and it disappears? Or something. The more rules we force, less useful it will become.
I have had even crazier ideas, but it all comes down to 2 things: Limits of engine and the people we play with. Engine limits are unknown to me and people are... well, people. No system is unbeatable by the biggest bastards in the game and whatever, if any, system we place, should be tested thoroughly by them.
I'm up for a mini-mod test scenario on a weekend. I'm not sure how lively Forgotten Honor is today, but like their mini-mod, we could test this the same way. A map X, with new and improved spawn system, running for a weekend. Keep noise long enough (news, forum, etc) and maybe it could be done. Everyone agrees to be as asshole as possible and it'll feel like standard pubby...
