Well ... we have both version of Tiger I ... so its gonna be very easy make some tanks for BoBWait a minute... I thought I remember someone on these forums saying that there were no Tiger I's in the Ardennes Offensive.
The guy in the video said though, they would not restore it to perfect condition, since they would have to replace so much, it would essentially be a replica.I've gotta say I'm kinda disappointed that it isn't going to be restored. A fully restored aircraft leaves a more lasting impression on a visitor then a preserved original with the paint work largely gone, various pieces missing (like the rudder or windows), and just looking unloved.
...what the hell is the URSS?...Union of Repeatively Spurious Spelling
..."King Tiger", "Königtiger", "Royal Tiger", "Bengal Tiger", etc. are all post-war nicknames...Source? I'm not being a dick or anything, I'm just curious to know
still, that's just nuts! Here in NZ, Massey University has a Centre for Defence & Security Studies. I'm actually taking a paper this semester wholly dedicated to the history of military intelligence and next semester onto airpower.
Thanks for the great photos! There's something about seeing all these WW1 planes together (even if they are replicas). I'd love to go to an airshow like this![rage]Calling them replicas makes them (and the people who worked on them) sound cheap, as if they are just repainted Tiger Moths or something. Pretty much all the aircraft there are made from the ground up from the original manufacturers specs, but since they aren't the original parts from the original manufacturer from around 100 years ago as apposed to say a brand new engine built 2 years that is down to the minutes details the same as one made 100 years ago, they are instantly labelled 'replicas'.
