Woooooh, tap of the weak.  ::)  Well... no, if only you could feel the smoothness of the new bearings.

Yep

Went bust on the fishing! Hard to catch anything when there are 20 people fishing the same area  ;D

Not a bad memorial day weekend though, was great to get out there and do some casting at least

I upgraded my CPU with Core 2 Duo e8500. Clocked it a bit and I think the game runs smoother than before :) Gotta build a new rig soon...

I just came back from a family trip to Poland and it was great. Saw my extended family, visited Mielec, Tarnow, Krakow, and even Morskie Oko. Poland is just beautiful; endless fields, forests, and farmlands in every direction. Morskie Oko and the beskidy mountains are breath-taking, definitely recommend anyone to visit. Europe feels so different from America, I love it.

Also:

...If that would be Poland it needs more Jesus and/or Virgin Mary, basically, something like this on every corner:

I didn't believe you until I saw it for myself; statues like these are basically everywhere there. There's even one next to my aunt's house. Another thing I saw a lot in Poland are roundabouts at almost every intersection.  ;D

All in all, it was a very nice and fun trip. Except for the flying, I hate flying. Also we had a delayed flight.
You are bathing in misery and hope, waiting for someone to come and pull the plug.

Guess what guys!

I have a real office now!  Shared with all the other grad student TAs/TFs!  This is where I'll be bashing students up-side the head with history books!  I have a key for it and everything, and even my own mail slot in the departmental mail room!

Yey first real job in academia!  ;D

@VonMurda, just out of interest, do you teach ww2 history lessons?

Hehe, I'm looking forward to doing so!  I'll be running office hours 2 days a week, 2 hours each day, so hopefully I'll get plenty of students coming in for that smackdown. :P

Heh, VonMurda.  Haven't seen that misspelling in a while.

I'm getting my PhD in History, and am assigned as a Teacher's Assistant as well.  Basically I will be dealing with grading, working with students 1 on 1 at office hours, possibly teaching some of the classes, and in general doing all the work the Professors can't be bothered with.  Academia is kinda like a guild in that sense. ;)  The next step I want, maybe next year or so, would be becoming a Teaching Fellow, at which point I'm handling my own course, teaching it, etc, and will possibly even have some TA's assigned to me.  Then just gotta hold myself there until I get my PhD, which will take ~5 years of coursework and dissertation research/writing/defending.

Congratulations VonMudra!

Let's right what Hollywood has wronged the society about World War 2.

Currently, I am dealing with extremists Imams posting pro-Nazi historical revisionism over my facebook wall.

They love to be pretentious intellect, yet ironically confirms what AFDI has been placating SF bus:

Making all these Ms. Marvel graffiti movement completely dumbfounded.

This one is pretty anti-semitic, bypassing Facebook's filter just because it is written in Indonesian.

As an Indonesian Chinese, I am used to prominent local Imams preaching hate towards the minority Chinese community, but openly posting anti-Semitic content in his page is another level. There will be shitstorm of consequences when you start doing this sensitive subject, especially on a western media platform like Facebook. I am pretty sure, despite all the weird books he read, he should know that Zuckerberg is a Jewish.
