meh just because it happened in the western world and due to it being the first foreign attack on american soil since the revolution it gets a lot of attention and suddenly is a "day of sadness for the whole world". What about the countless deaths caused by the US during the years, and during say, the attacks in 2003 and onwards.
you (america) had it coming.
Once again the anit-American sentiment on this forum sickens me. Why can't we just have a thread to honor the thousands of innocent people who died? Why must we always turn it into a political matter? I understand you have a passionate distaste for the US and it's policies. That's totally fine with me -- you are entitled to your opinion, and I myself have been against almost every bit of foreign policy enacted post-911.
But it goes beyond rude and crass to then say that "those thousand Americans had it coming" -- as if you have any right to say that their deaths on that day are justified. Seriously, I just can't understand where you get off thinking this is OK. I would be saying the same thing if it were the subway attack in England, or the Train incident in Madrid, Spain, or the terrorist bombings in Africa in the 90's. In all of these cases, huge numbers of innocent people were murdered -- why can't we all agree that these things should be condemned?
So for the love of god, put your rhetoric aside, and just recognize the fact that 3000 innocent people died today 9 years ago. Sometimes I really don't understand these boards ... it's just disturbing how cold people can be. I guess the internet gives people the correct amount of emotional detachment to say such things.
